The Krebbs Ranch....afternoon

"So how about it, Dylan, ol' boy?"  Asks teenage ranch hand Ben Murray, standing face to face with Dylan in the stables at the Krebbs Ranch.  "How much is it worth to you for me to keep my mouth shut about what I just seen here?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, Ben,"  Dylan says.

"You're about the worst liar I ever seen in my life.  I'm talkin' about that whiskey flask in your pocket.  You gonna tell me that's tea you were drinkin'?"

"You really need to learn how to mind your own business, Ben,"  says Dylan.  "It's never healthy to stick your nose where it doesn't belong."

"You threatenin' me, Baxter?"  Ben asks.

"Just suggesting you keep your nose out of my business."

Ben moves closer to Dylan and smiles.  "You think you're somethin', don't you? You and that brother of yours.  You think because your old man was Mr. Ray's cousin, and you live in the big house with him, that you can get away with anything around here.  Well, why don't we just see.  Let's just see if Mr. Ray appreciates one of his hands chuggin' booze at work, kin or not."  Ben turns and starts to leave.

"Ben, wait,"  Dylan says.

Ben stops, pauses a moment, then turns to his rival.  "Yeah, Dylan?  Somethin' you wanna say?"

Dylan walks over to the young man.  "What do you want?"

Ben smiles.  "Now that's more like it,"  he says.  "No need for Mr. Ray or your brother or anybody else to know about your little secret........long as you do a favor or two for me from time to time."

Dylan looks at the boy angrily, barely able to control his impulse to knock Ben flat on his ass.  "What do you want from me?"  He asks with gritted teeth as Conner walks into the stables.

"Hey, what's goin' on?"  Conner asks.  He looks at his brother, then at Ben.  Both young men remain silent as they continue to glare at each other, Ben with a slight smile.  "Is there a problem in here?"

"No,"  Ben replies.  "No problem at all.  Your brother and me, we just came to an understandin'.  I mean, we gotta work together on this ranch, so we might as well get along and help each other out a little.  Right, Dylan?"

"Right,"  Dylan replies sadly, a tone of defeat in his voice.

Ben smiles.  "Dylan, we'll finish our little talk later," he says, then turns and walks out of the stables.

"Dylan, what was that all about?"  Conner asks.

"Nothing.  Ben and I were just talking."

"Yeah, I could see that, but things looked pretty intense between the two of you."

"Everything's fine, Conner.  Ben and I just talked everything out, and he apologized.  We agreed to try and get along."

"Good,"  Conner says.  "But it might be a good idea to just stay away from Ben Murray.  He's a good worker, but, I just don't like that kid for some reason.  He seems pretty smug to me.  He could be a troublemaker.  And look, I also wanted to say that I'm sorry for what happened between us the other day.  I never should've hit you and talked to you that way."

"Forget it,"  Dylan says.  "I have work to do."  He turns his back to his brother and resumes the work he was doing before Ben came in.  Conner looks at him for a few seconds, then turns and walks out.

Stone-Barnes Oil....

A defeated and embittered Cliff is sitting alone in his office at Stone-Barnes Oil, angry over losing his chance at the interim CEO position at Wentworth Industries to Katherine's son, Jonathon Lord.  Brad knocks on his father's door.  "Come in,"  Cliff says in a low voice.

Brad walks into the office.  "Hey, how did......"  he stops short when he sees the sad and angry expression on Cliff's face.  "Never mind.  I guess I don't have to ask how the Wentworth board meeting went.  You didn't get the job as interim CEO?"

"Nope.  Instead the board gave the job to Katherine's son, Jonathon Lord, an inexperienced kid who's still wet behind the ears."

"Well, I'm sorry, Cliff,"  Brad says.  "I know how much you wanted that.  But, I'm sure the board had their reasons."

"Oh, yeah.  But mark my words........that Lord kid will run Wentworth Industries into the ground.  And, somehow..... ......SOMEHOW, I'm going to make him, and the board regret their decision today."

Brad looks at Cliff, wondering what his father is up to.

Southfork....late afternoon

Ann walks into the living room at Southfork and finds Bobby on the phone.  She pauses in the doorway and listens to his side of the conversation.

"Bum, I know,"  Bobby says.  "I know you're doing the best you can on this, it's just very frustrating that in all this time we haven't had a break in this case.  I can't believe that Katherine Wentworth and her three children just vanished into thin air.  There has to be some trace of them SOMEWHERE. Or someone who knows something.  Alright, well, keep workin' on this.  It's very important to me that Katherine is found and brought to justice for all of her crimes, but most of all for what she did to my wife.  Thanks, Bum.  I'll be in touch."  Bobby ends the call and puts his phone down, unaware that Ann is standing behind hjm, a worried look on her face.  Bobby turns around and he is startled to see his wife. "Honey, I didn't hear ya come in."

"I know,"  Ann says.  "You were talkin' to Bum about Katherine."

"Yes, I was.  I also spoke to the police today."

"And?  No news?"

Bobby sighs.  "No.  It's as if Katherine and Katelyn Spencer, Brian Manning, and Austin Wentworth vanished into thin air."

"Given Katherine's vast financial resources, that wouldn't be hard to do.  She's disappeared before."

"I know.  But it's different this time.  Before, Katherine was alone.  Now, she's most likely got one of the FBI's most wanted criminals in the country with her.............Brian Manning."

"Bobby, why can't you let this go?"  Ann asks.

Bobby looks at his wife.  "Annie, are you serious?  After everything that Katherine has done to this family.  After what she did to YOU, how can I just let her get away again?"

"You can't, Uncle Bobby,"  comes Jimmy's voice from the doorway.  Bobby and Ann turn and see Jimmy.  He walks into the room.  "After everything they did, we can't just let them get away."

"Don't worry, Jimmy, I'm not going to,"  says Bobby.  "I intend to do everything in my power to make sure Katherine, her son, and her daughter are all caught and punished.  I'm gonna make sure that Katherine Wentworth never harms another member of my family again."  Bobby walks past Ann and Jimmy and leaves the room.

"WHY do you keep pushin' this?"  Ann angrily asks Jimmy.

"What I don't understand is......why do you NOT?"  Jimmy asks.  "Ann, Katherine Wentworth and her daughter almost killed both of us.  Katherine's son DID kill your brother, and you want these people to just walk away from this?"

"Of course not.  But bringin' them back here won't undo what's been done.  It will only cause more pain.  Do you really wanna relive the nightmare of what was done to you?  Because I sure as hell don't!"

"I relive every minute I spent in that basement locked in a cage like an animal every time I close my eyes,"  Jimmy says.  "And there's no way in HELL I'm gonna let the people who did this to me walk free."  Jimmy turns and walks out of the living room, leaving Ann more worried than ever that, if Bobby and the police successfully find Katherine and bring her back, she will blow the lid off the secret of baby Logan's paternity.

 Southfork....later....

Courtney is anxiously pacing around her and Christopher's bedroom a few minutes later when Christopher walks in.  "Hey," he says.

"I'm glad you're home."

"Why, what's wrong?"

"It's........it's Jacob.  The school called me today.  He got into a fight with another boy in the cafeteria."

"A fight?"  Christopher asks.  "Is he okay?"

"Physically, he's fine.  But Christopher, emotionally he's not."

"He just needs time."

"He got into a fight on his second day of school." Courtney says.  "I talked with Jacob's principle.  Some of his teachers have noticed that he's very quiet and withdrawn, same as he is around here.  Mrs. Corrigan, the principle, thinks he needs help. And so do I.  He's been here for more than a week, Christopher, and it seems as if he's getting more withdrawn."

Christopher nods.  "I know, you're right.  I just kept hoping we could get through to him."

"Mrs. Corrigan suggested a child psychologist,"  says Courtney.

"Okay.  I'll call Ryan Benson.  He's the best I know in the field of psychology.  I'll give him a call first thing in the morning."

Courtney puts her arms around her husband and the two embrace, a look of concern on Christopher's face as he worries about Jacob's problems.

Southfork....two and a half months later....

A sunny but cold Saturday has dawned at Southfork.  Two and a half months have passed, and the Texas heat of late summer has given way to beautiful golden orange leaves and unseasonably colder temperatures.  Bobby and

Ann come down the stairs at Southfork that morning, Ann looking at her phone.  "Well, the temperature today is only gonna be in the low 50s," she says.  "But we're in luck.  The forecast for next Saturday is sunny and in the 70s."

"Perfect weather for the barbecue,"  Bobby says.  "As always.  Now, everything has been taken care of, right?"

"Yes, but Courtney, Lucy, and I will go over the cheklist one last time this week, and if there's anything else that needs doin', we'll get that taken care before next Saturday."

At the bottom of the stairs, Bobby turns to his wife and smiles.  "You always do such a marvelous job in planning and putting together the Ewing Barbecue.  And, thank you for including Courtney and Heather in the planning this year."

"I was glad to do it, and they've both been a big help.  So has Lucy."

"I hear my name?"  Lucy asks, walking into the foyer.

"I was just tellin' Bobby what a big help you've been in plannin' the Barbecue,"  Ann says as the sound of the telephone can be heard ringing.

"Well, thank you for saying that."

"Lucy, did you make sure to invite your Mama and Daddy to the Barbecue?"  Bobby asks.

"I sure did, and they both said they'd try to make it,"  Lucy replies.

Bobby smiles.  "Great," he says as the family's maid, Maria, comes into the foyer.

"Excuse me, Mr. Ewing?"

"Yes, Maria?"

"You have a phone call."

"Thank you, Maria,"  Bobby says.  Maria hands him the phone and he answers the call.  "Hello?  Yes, this is Bobby Ewing.  Yes, I am looking for information about that.  I see.  Yes, I would love to meet with you.  Well, as soon as possible.  Alright.  I'll see you in my office on Monday then.  1 o'clock is fine.  And thank you."  Bobby hangs up.

"Bobby, who was that?"  Ann asks.

"That was a man who says he has information that could link Katherine Wentworth to the murders of Naldo Marchetta and Veronica Robinson,"  replies Bobby.

"After all these years?"  Lucy asks.

"Yeah.  This man said that he knew the man who carried out the hit on Marchetta and Veronica. If he's on the level, then this could be the break I've waited for all these years that could prove Katherine framed Jenna for the murder of Naldo Marchetta."

"What difference would that make after all this time?"  Ann nervously asks.

"It means that, WHEN Katherine is finally caught, and if we can somehow prove that she was behind the hit on Marchetta.......then Katherine will spend the rest of her life behind bars where she belongs.  She'll never again be a threat to anyone in this family."

Ann looks at her husband, a look of fear on her face.

The Krebbs Ranch....

Ray, Conner, Dylan, and Ben are loading some hay onto the back of a truck in one of the pastures on the Krebbs ranch early that afternoon.  "Gonna be a cold one tonight,"  Ray says.  "So that baby calf is gonna need to be kept warm."

"Yeah,"  Conner agrees.  "Sure has turned cold early this year."

"It's not gonna last,"  says Ray.  "By mid-week, it's supposed to be back in the 70s.  I bet Bobby's glad to hear that, with the Ewing Barbecue comin' up next Saturday."

"Texas weather is crazy,"  Ben says.

"Sure is,"  Ray says.  "Might be 75 degrees one day, and 45 the next, and 65 the day after that.  And speakin' of the Ewing Barbecue, Ben, you're welcome to come with us, if you'd like."

Ben looks at his boss and smiles.  "Well, thank ya, Mr. Ray, I appreciate that.  I'd love to go.  I always heard a lot about the famous Ewing Barbecue when I was growin' up.  Didn't think I'd ever be attendin' one."

"Well, you're in for a treat,"  Ray says as the walking talkie laying on a bale of hay makes a sound.

"Mr. Krebbs,"  comes the voice of a man over the walkie talkie.

Ray picks it up.  "Yeah, Chuck, what's goin' on?"

"Got a calf hurt over in the south pasture.  Tony just called me.  It's in the creek bed."

"Thanks, Chuck, I'll take care of it,"  Ray says.  "I gotta go, boys."

"You need some help, Ray?"  Conner asks.

"Yeah, I might.  Dylan and Ben can finish up here.  Let's go."  Ray and Conner hurry over to a second pickup truck parked nearby and get in, then drive off as Dylan and Ben watch.

"Well, now, I guess it's just the two of us,"  Ben says.  "Now that they're gone, you can take a drink from that flask I know you got in your pocket.  I aint gonna tell.  We got an agreement, remember?"

Dylan just looks at the boy angrily, then returns to his work without acknowledging Ben's words.

"I know you want a drink right now,"  Ben continues to taunt.  "I can tell by the way your hands are shakin', just the way my old man's use to when he'd get the cravin'.   So go on.  Nobody here but us."

Dylan loads a bale of hay onto the back of the truck then looks at Ben.  Without saying a word, he reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a flask.  He takes two sips, then replaces the flask in his pocket as Ben looks at him and smiles.  "Happy now?"  Dylan asks.

"No need for you to be so hostile toward me, Dylan,"  Ben says.  "I know how it is.  My old man was a drunk.  So I understand what you're goin' through.  That's why I'm keepin' your secret."

"You're keeping my secret because I'm PAYING you to keep your mouth shut,"  Dylan says.

"Well, whatever.  The point is, in over two months I haven't said a word to your brother or to old man Krebbs about your drinkin'.  I may as well get somethin' for my trouble.  It's only fair.  I do somethin' for you, and you do somethin' for me.  That's what friends do."

"One thing you and I will never be is friends,"  says Dylan.

"Sorry ya feel that way.  And just when I thought you and me were startin' to bond as bros."

"Look, you got a problem with me, Ben?"  Dylan asks.  "Ever since you came to work here this past summer, you've been in my face, treating me like crap, and now this blackmail.  What the hell have you got against me?"

"Nothin' against you, Baxter,"  Ben says.  "It's your kind I can't stand."

"My KIND?"

"That's right.  Spoiled rich punk who ran somebody down in a car, and all you got was a slap on the wrist and a few months in a nuthouse for attempted murder.  And now look at you.  Workin' out here on this ranch, and what's your payoff?  You and your brother get to live up in that nice house with old man Krebbs and his wife.  Get to be treated like their own sons.  Must be nice."

"So that's what this is about?"  Dylan asks.  "This hostility toward me is because you're jealous?  That's pathetic.  Look, I'm sorry if you had a hard life, Ben, but mine hasn't been all fun and laughs, either.  And I've got news for you. The world doesn't owe you a damned thing."

"No, but you do.  Unless you want everyone to know that you're nothin' but a drunk who can't even do a day's work without hittin' that bottle."  Ben looks at Dylan and smiles.  "And you call ME pathetic.  Least I'm not a lush."  Ben begins to laugh, then returns to the work of loading the hay onto the trailer.

Dylan looks at the boy, fighting back tears as he is filled with both anger and sadness.  He realizes that Ben is right, he is a drunk, a painful realization that makes him feel even worse about himself than he already did, which in turn only makes him crave a drink even more.

Sue Ellen's home....that evening

Sue Ellen, Catlin, John Ross, Krystina, and C.J. gather in the living room at Sue Ellen's home that evening to have before dinner drinks.  Catlin pours Krystina a drink and hands it to her.

"Thank you, Catlin," she says.

"You're welcome."

"So, now that we're all here, why exactly ARE we here?"  John Ross asks.

"I just thought it would be nice for the five of us to have a family dinner together,"  replies Sue Ellen.

"You mean before the big Christmas wedding?"  John Ross asks, looking at Catlin.

"Yes, John Ross, BEFORE the wedding,"  says Catlin.  "We thought this would give us all a chance to get to know each other better, and for our two branches of the family to get more comfortable with each other before Sue Ellen and I walk down the isle on Christmas Eve."

"Great idea,"  C.J. says.

"Yes, I think so, too,"  Krystina says with a smile.  "Don't you, John Ross?"

"Oh, just peachy,"  replies a sarcastic John Ross.

"Well, now that we're all here, John Ross, I have something to ask you,"  Sue Ellen says.  "A favor, really."

"And what might that be?"  John Ross asks.

"I would like very much if you would give me away at our wedding."

"You want ME to give you away?"

"Of course.  You are my son, and who better to walk me down the isle and give me away when I marry Catlin?"

"Sue Ellen, I think that's a wonderful idea,"  says Krystina.

"Well, John Ross?"  Sue Ellen asks.

John Ross looks at his mother for a moment, then at Catlin, and back to Sue Ellen.  "Y'know, Catlin, when you first started datin' my mother, it was no secret I was real unhappy about it.  Then, when the two of you announced you were gettin' married, I was downright pissed.  Mama, I thought Catlin Ewing was just about the worst man in the world for you, aside from Cliff Barnes."

"John Ross......."  Sue Ellen says.

"What the hell kind of crap is that?"  C.J. asks.

"John Ross, I was hoping you were beginning to put your animosity toward Catlin and our relationship behind you, but I see now that I was wrong," says Sue Ellen.

"Now hold on, just let me finish.  I've changed my mind.  Catlin, I don't know if you and I will ever be best buds or go on a fishin' trip together, but.......I see that you really do love my Mama.  And I see how happy she is with you.  So this marriage has my blessing, and I would be proud to escort my beautiful mother down that isle."

Sue Ellen smiles.  "John Ross, thank you.  Thank you for saying that."

"Yes, John Ross,"  Catlin says.  "I really appreciate that.  And you're right, we may never be the best of friends, but, we do have one thing in common, other than our last name.  We both love your mother very much, and we want what's best for her.  And I promise you that I will spend the rest of my life making Sue Ellen happy."

"I'm glad to hear that.  And I promise you that, if you ever hurt my mother, you'll have me to answer to."

"Fair enough,"  Catlin says, extending his hand.

John Ross looks at Catlin for a few seconds, then the two men shake hands as Sue Ellen and Krystina breathe a sigh of relief.

"Hey, how about a hand shake for your new brother?"  C.J. asks.

John Ross smiles, then shakes hands with C.J. just as Sue Ellen's maid, Hilda, comes to the door.  "Excuse me, Mrs. Ewing,"  she says.  "Dinner is ready."

"Thank you, Hilda,"  Sue Ellen says.  "Shall we go in?"

Krystina takes John Ross's arm as they, along with Catlin, Sue Ellen, and C.J. head into the dining room for dinner.

Ewing Oil....two days later....

Bobby pours two glasses of bourbon in his office at Ewing Oil early Monday afternoon, and hands one to Christopher.  "Thanks, Dad."

"You're welcome.  I wanted to ask you, son, how are things goin' with Jacob?  He seems to me that he's starting to come out of his shell a little since he's been seeing Dr. Benson."

"Yeah, he's really starting to make progress, I think,"  Christopher replies.  "Ryan is definitely helping Jacob a lot.  He's not that same sad little boy Courtney and I brought home a couple months ago."

"I'm really glad to hear that.  And I can't tell you how proud I am seeing you with your own little family."

Christopher nods as he lowers his head, his smile disappearing.

"Christopher, is somethin' wrong?"  Bobby asks.

"I'm a little worried about Chase Gioberti, Dad.  You know, after what happened in California with Adam Reed, Chase agreed to back off his custody suit for a while to give Jacob some time to adjust and cope with what was done to him."

"And you're afraid that Chase will eventually decide to seek custody of Jacob?"  Bobby asks.

"Yeah, I am.  I can tell that Courtney is worried, too, although she doesn't say anything.  Dad, it's not so much that I'm worried Chase could win.  I'm more worried about what another bitterly fought custody battle could do to Jacob, especially now that he's starting to come out of his shell a bit.  Anymore trauma could send that poor kid right to the shy, scared, withdrawn little boy he was when we brought him home."

"Surely Gioberti understands that."

"I hope he does.  But he's very angry, and if........"  Christopher suddenly stops talking.

"If what, son?"  Bobby asks.

"Nothing,"  Christopher replies as Janice buzzes Bobby's office.

Bobby presses the button on his intercom.  "Yes, Janice?"

"Bobby, there's a Mr. George Shuman here to see you."

"George Shuman?  Thank you, Janice, send him in."

"Who's that, Dad?"  Christopher asks.

"Hopefully, someone who can help prove Katherine Wentworth's involvement in the murder of Naldo Marchetta,"  Bobby says.  A second later, George Shuman, a graying man of about seventy, walks into the office.  Upon taking one look at the man, a look of shock comes over Bobby's face.

"Mr. Ewing, thank you for agreeing to see me,"  Shuman says.

"Yes, of course,"  says Bobby.  "George Shuman, this is my son, Christopher Ewing."

"Christopher, it's a pleasure."

"Same here,"  Christopher says, shaking hands with the older man.  "Well, Dad, I'll leave you two to talk."  Christopher quickly makes a retreat from the office.

"Shuman, forgive me for staring,"  Bobby says.  "It's just that......"

"It's quite alright, Mr. Ewing, and I assure you, you aren't seeing a ghost.  Andre Shuman was my brother.  We were identical twins."

"I see.  Please, have a seat."

"Thank you,"  Shuman says, taking a seat across from Bobby's desk.  Bobby walks over and sits down behind his desk.  "Mr. Ewing, I'm very sorry for the mysterious manner in which I contacted you the other day.  But I felt it best not to give my name or reveal my connection to Andre Shuman."

"You said that you had some information about your brother," Bobby says.

"Yes.  Mr. Ewing, my twin brother was always a very difficult child when we were growing up.  From an early age, Andre exhibited anti social behavior that greatly alarmed our parents.  The two of us took very different paths in life after high school.  While I went on to law school and became a very successful attorney in New York City, Andre joined the mob and became a hired killer, all the while carrying on the facade of a happily married man with two children.  After my brother's conviction in 1985 of the murders of Renaldo Marchetta and Veronica Robinson, Andre's wife, Loretta, told me about your deal with him.  That you would set up an account for Loretta and the children so that they would never want for anything.  My sister-in-law lived very comfortably on that money for the rest of her life.  I stayed in very close contact with her through the years."  Shuman reaches into his pocket and pulls out an envelope.  "Loretta gave me this after my brother died, Mr. Ewing.  She instructed me not to open this letter until after her own death.  I'm sorry to say that my  sister-in-law passed away several weeks ago."

"I'm very sorry,"  Bobby says.

"Thank you.  After Loretta's funeral, I opened this letter she gave me.  It was a letter that my brother gave to her upon her last visit to him in prison back in 2012, before his death.  When Andre wrote this to Loretta, he knew he was dying.  In this letter is my brother's full confession to his wife.  And......proof, in his own hand, that he had known for years who was behind the hit he carried out on Naldo Marchetta and Veronica Robinson so long ago."  Shuman hands the letter to Bobby, who takes it.

Bobby takes the letter from the envelope, opens it, and begins to read.  Half way down the page, his mouth falls open in shock and a stunned look comes over his face.  "Oh my God," he says, then continues to read on.  Once finished with the three page letter, Bobby looks at Shuman.  "It was your brother's wish that this letter be given to me upon his death?"

"Yes.  Loretta said that Andre told her to seal the letter in an envelope once she had read it, and to make sure that I got it.  He wanted the letter delivered to you upon his death.  For some reason, Loretta decided that you were not to see this letter until after her own death, provided you were still alive at that time.  I decided to abide by her wishes since, in addition to Loretta being my sister-in-law, I also handled her legal affairs."

"I understand,"  says Bobby.  "Mr. Shuman, I don't know how to thank you for this.  I'm not sure how much you know about the murders of Naldo Marchetta and Veronica Robinson, the crimes that finally got him convicted."

"I do know the details, Mr. Ewing.  So, this letter will help you?"

"Oh, this will definitely help.  This letter, in your brother's own hand, proves what I've believed for more than 32 years.  That Katherine Wentworth was the one who hired your brother to murder Naldo Marchetta and frame Jenna Wade for the crime,"  Bobby says, a look of relief on his face.

The Ryland mansion.....a short time later....

Harris Ryland's butler opens the door of the Ryland mansion a short time later and lets Bobby in.  "Is Ms. Wade at home?  I need to speak with her, it's important."

"Yes, Mr. Ewing.  I'll let Ms. Wade know that you're here."

"Bobby?"  Jenna asks, coming down the stairs.  The butler leaves the room.

"Hello, Jenna, I need to talk to you."

"Alright, let's go in here,"  Jenna says, walking into the living room with Bobby following.  "Would you like a drink?"

"No, thank you, I'm fine."

"Bobby, what is it?  Something's wrong,"  Jenna says.  "Is it Lucas?  Or one of the kids?"

"No, nothing like that, everyone is fine,"  Bobby replies.  "But I do have some news."  Bobby reaches into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulls out the letter George Shuman had given him.  "There's something you need to know." Bobby hands Jenna the letter.

"What is this?"  Jenna asks.

"Read it."

Jenna opens the folded letter and begins reading.  The more she reads, the more stunned her expression becomes. After she finishes reading, she puts the letter down and lets out a deep breath.  "Where did you get this?"

"From the brother of Andre Shuman, the man who wrote that letter.  The professional assassin who murdered Naldo and set you up to go to prison for the crime."

"So it was Katherine all along,"  Jenna says sadly.  "Katherine did this to me?"

"Yes."

"Because she was in love with you and wanted to get me out of your life for good."

"After FINALLY having the proof that Katherine was behind Naldo's murder, I'm convinced that the entire thing was an elaborate plot by Katherine.  Why else would Naldo have shown up back in Dallas on the day before you and I were to be married?"

"It all makes sense now,"  says Jenna.  "After all these years, it finally makes sense.  Katherine paid Naldo to come to Dallas to break us up.  He kidnapped Charlie to get to me.  Forced me to stand you up on our wedding day.  Then Katherine had Naldo killed and framed me.  The perfect plan."

"Except for one thing,"  Bobby says.  "Naldo's accomplice, Veronica Robinson.  She got in the way when she agreed to come here to Dallas to testify, and she had to be eliminated, too.  So, Katherine paid Andre Shuman to kill her, too."

"So what does this mean, Bobby?"  Jenna asks.

"It means that Katherine will FINALLY be brought to justice for Naldo's murder, and what she did to you."

"IF she's ever caught."

"Oh, she'll be caught,"  Bobby says.  "That, I can promise you.  Katherine is going to pay for every twisted and evil thing she's ever done."

Jenna looks at him for a few seconds.  "Imagine.  If it hadn't been for Katherine Wentworth, you and I would have gotten married that day, and our lives would've been very different.  Lucas could have grown up with both of his parents."

"I know,"  Bobby says.

"I want her to pay, Bobby.  I want that bitch to pay very dearly for ruining our lives."

"Jenna, I promise you, I won't rest until Katherine Wentworth is captured and made to pay for everything she's done."

Jenna moves closer to him.  "I suppose you need this letter for the police?"

"Yes, I do."

Jenna moves closer to him.  "Bobby, thank you for bringing this to me.  At least now I know why everything happened the way that it did back then."

"I felt you had a right to know."

"Thank you,"  Jenna says, placing her hand on Bobby's arm.  After a moment of uncomfortable silence, the two almost kiss, but then Bobby pulls back.

"I have go go, Jenna,"  he says.  "I'll see you at the Barbecue on Saturday."  Bobby flashes a quick smile, then hurries out.  After he's gone, Jenna's mind travels back in time many years, to one night in late 1984, when she woke up to a horrifying discovery that would change her life forever.....

Jenna's mind returns to the present.  She wipes a tear from her cheek, then closes her eyes as she remembers another terrible day a few months later......

Again coming out of her daydream, Jenna breaks down in tears, still haunted by what happened to her so many decades ago.

Southfork.....that night....

Bobby pours his friend, Lt. Steve Walden of the Dallas Police Department, a drink in the den at Southfork that evening.

"Well, Steve?"   Bobby says.  "Is this letter written by Andre Shuman enough evidence to reopen the Naldo Marchetta murder case?"

"Well, of course we're gonna have to compare the handwriting in this letter to Andre Shuman's handwriting,"  Lt. Steve Walden replies.  "And if it's a match, then this definitely warrants reopening the Naldo Marchetta case.  We can issue a warrant for Katherine Wentworth's arrest."

"Finally, after all these years,"  Bobby says.  "I was beginning to think this day would never come."

"According to this letter, the man who acted as the money man told Shuman in the late 90s that Katherine Wentworth was behind the hit on Marchetta and Veronica Robinson."

"Yes.  Shuman told me at the time of his arrest that he picked his money up at various spots, and he never knew who had paid him.  I had a feeling way back then that it was Katherine because she was on the run at the time after she shot me and skipped bail.  But until now, I could never prove she was the one behind Naldo's murder and Jenna's framing."

"Bobby, I understand how important this is to you, and I can understand why, after all that Katherine Wentworth did to you and the people you love,"  Steve says.  "We have enough evidence, if this letter matches Andre Shuman's handwriting, to convict Katherine.  But we have to find her first."

"I know that, Steve,"  Bobby says.

"Katherine has almost unlimited resources at her disposal.  Her primary accounts were frozen shortly after she disappeared, and she can't touch any corporate money from Wentworth Industries, but, our investigation has shown that Ms. Wentworth, or Mrs. Channing, as she's now known, has multiple accounts hidden around the world.  We managed to track down two of those accounts, one in London, and the other in Saudi Arabia.  The accounts were cleaned out and closed, and they were done so online.  Katherine's online account has also been closed."

"Then she could be anywhere,"  says a disappointed Bobby.  "Anywhere in the world."

"I'm afraid so.  Katherine was very smart.  Apparently, she foresaw the day when she would have to again go on the run, and she prepared for it by opening secret bank accounts around the world, transferring funds from one account to another so none of the accounts could be traced."

"That's one thing Katherine always was.......smart and calculating,"  Bobby says as Ann walks into the room.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt," she says.

"Honey, you're not interrupting."

"Hello, Ann, it's good to see you again,"  says Steve.

"You too, Lieutenant Walden.  What's goin' on?"

"Honey, do you remember the man who phoned me a couple days ago and said he had information about Katherine?"  Bobby asks.

"Yes,"  Ann replies, holding her breath as she fears that Katherine has been found.

"That man came to see me today.  He gave me a letter that was written by his brother, the man who was hired to murder Charlie's father, Naldo Marchetta, almost 33 years ago.  The letter proves that Katherine was the one who hired him to kill Naldo and his friend, Veronica Robinson.  After all these years, Katherine will finally pay for what she did."

"If she's found,"  says Ann.

"Oh, she WILL be found,"  Bobby says.  "If it's the last thing I do, I'm not gonna rest until that bitch is caught and brought back to Dallas."

"Well, Bobby, I have to run,"  Steve says.

"Thanks for comin' by, Steve,"  says Bobby.  "We're gonna see you at the Barbecue on Saturday, right?"

"Wouldn't miss it for the world.  Ann, good seeing you."

"I'll walk you out,"  Bobby says, he and Steve walking out of the room.

After the two men leave, Ann struggles to fight back tears, her heart sinking with fear that if and when Katherine is found, she will blow the secret of Logan's paternity out of the water, and with it, her marriage to Bobby.

Southfork....five days later....

On Saturday morning, Southfork Ranch is alive with the noise of workers making last minute preparations for the annual Ewing Barbecue which is set to begin in just a few hours.  A small stage has been erected for the live country band that will play that afternoon.  The weather is perfect for the Barbecue, with highs expected to reach the mid to upper 70s by afternoon, despite it being late fall.  A bar has been set up, and Bobby is personally overseeing last minute details with some of the workers hired for the event.   At the basketball goal, Alex, Shawn, Michael, and Jacob are playing a game.  Ann comes out of the house and stands on the patio watching her husband.  Then she looks over at the four boys playing basketball.  A smile comes to her face as she watches them for a moment.  Christopher comes out of the house.  He stands beside Ann and watches the boys, too.

"Jacob really seems to be doin' a lot better than when he first came here,"  Ann says.

"Yeah, he sure has,"  Christopher says, sadly.

"Hey, what's wrong?"  Ann asks.  "That should make you happy."

"Oh, believe me, it does.  It's just that........seeing Jacob out there playing basketball with the other boys, having fun for the first time since he's been here at Southfork......that really does make me happy.  But, I'm worried, Ann.  Worried about how long it'll last."

"What do you mean?  Why wouldn't it last?"  Ann asks.

"If Chase Gioberti decides to follow through with his custody suit, everything Courtney and I have tried to build for Jacob will come crashing down,"  Christopher replies.  "And I honestly don't think that little boy can take anymore upheaval."

"Christopher, you don't honestly think Chase Gioberti could win custody of Jacob, do you?"

"Not really.  But, that's not the point.  Even if Chase doesn't win, the trauma of another custody fight after everything that kid has been through, it undo all the progress he's made in the past couple months.  Then there's always the possibility, no matter how remote, that Courtney could lose her son."  Christopher pauses and looks at his stepmother.  "And I really don't think she'd be able to handle that,"  he continues.  He takes another quick look at Jacob playing with the other boys, then turns and walks back into the house.  Ann looks at Jacob with a sad expression, now worried about Christopher and Courtney's situation as well as her own.

Justin's home....

Justin and Pamela are laying in bed at his ranch house that morning, kissing.  After a few seconds, Justin looks at her and smiles.

"What are you smiling at?"  Pamela asks.

"I am smilin' because I have every reason to smile,"  Justin replies.

"And what are some of those reasons?"  Pamela asks.

"Well, for one, I have the most beautiful, amazing woman layin' in bed with me right now, and I have a brand new comp'ny that's gettin' off the ground. And to make things even better, you're workin' with me at Ewing Records. Oh, and, I can't forget that sweet little boy asleep in the next room, as well as that other sweet little boy who's off with his Daddy this weekend."

"It makes me so happy that you love Hunter and Randall."

"What, are you kiddin' me?"  Justin asks.   "Of course I love those little guys, like they were my own."

"And they love you,"  Pamela says, looking at him.  "Justin, you've made me happier than I've ever been."

"That goes double for me,"  Justin says, kissing her.  After a moment, he pulls out of the kiss, then reaches over and picks up his watch from the table beside the bed, looking at it.  "Hey, it's 10 o'clock.  We'd better get up.  Gotta start gettin' ready to head on over to Southfork in a couple hours."

"Umm, Justin, "  Pamela says, getting out of bed.  "I don't think I'm gonna go to the Barbecue with you today.  You go, and have fun, and I'll stay here with Randall."

"What?  But honey, why?"  Justin asks, sitting up in bed.

"I just don't think it's a good idea, me showing up at Southfork for the Ewing Barbecue as your date."

"Pamela, come on.  My fam'ly knows that you're a part of my life.  Besides, I don't give a damn what anyone thinks. Pamela, I want you there with me today."

"You know how the Ewings feel about me, and about my family."

Justin gets out of bed and walks over to her.  "It doesn't matter," he says.  "All that matters is how we feel about each other, and if the Ewings and the Barnes can't or won't accept that, then that's THEIR problem, not ours.  Pamela, I love you.  I love your kids, and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you.  In fact, I wanna marry you."

"You......you wanna MARRY me?"  Pamela asks.

"Yes."

Pamela looks at him and smiles, putting her arms around his neck.  "Justin Randall Ewing, are you by any chance asking me to marry you?"

"Yes, I am.  I was plannin' to wait and do this on Christmas, but, I just don't wanna wait any longer.  So, Pamela Rebecca Barnes.......will you marry me?"

"Justin, I love you,"  Pamela says with a smile.  "And my answer is........yes."

"Yes?"

"Yes.  I'll marry you, Justin."

He looks at her and smiles.  "You know, I was wrong about somethin'," he says.  "I only THOUGHT I was the happiest man on Earth before.  But I was wrong, because right now, I just became the happiest man on Earth.  I love you, Pamela."

"And I you," she says, giving him a quick kiss.

"Now......how about the Ewing Barbecue?  Will you come with me?  Please?"

"I'll come,"  Pamela says.

As Justin is about to say something, baby Randall begins to cry in the next room.  Justin and Pamela laugh.

"Are you SURE you wanna marry a woman with two small boys, one an infant?"

"Don't forget, I helped bring that infant into the world,"  Justin says.  "And yes, I'm sure.  I'm gonna go get a shower while you take care of Randall."

Pamela kisses him, then puts on her robe and leaves the bedroom to check on the baby.

Southfork....later....

Just about an hour or so before the annual Barbecue is to begin, Christopher knocks on Michael and Jacob's bedroom door as the boys are getting ready for the afternoon's festivities.  "Come in,"  Michael says.

Christopher walks into the small bedroom.  "Hey, guys," he says.

"Hey, Christopher,"  says Michael.

"You guys almost ready for the Barbecue?"

"Yep, all set and can't wait."

"How about you, Jacob?"

"Sure, I guess,"  the boy replies.

"Michael, if you're all ready, why don't you head on downstairs?"  Christopher asks.  "I'd like to have a couple minutes with Jacob."

"Okay,"  Michael says.  He grabs his hat, then leaves the room.

Christopher closes the door behind him and walks over and takes a seat on one of the beds.  "Well, this will be your first Ewing Barbecue, so I gotta warn ya.....be ready for just about ANYTHING to happen."

"Like what?"  Jacob asks.

"Well, don't be surprised if someone ends up in the pool,"  Christopher says with a laugh.  "But listen, Jacob, I've got somethin' for ya here."  Christopher hands Jacob a cowboy hat he had been carrying with him.

"For me?"  Jacob asks.

"Yeah, this old hat use to belong to me when I was a kid. And I want you to have it."

Jacob takes the hat and looks at it for a few seconds.  "You're......you're GIVING this to me?"

"I sure am."

"How come?"

"Because I want you to have it.  Hey, listen, I'm gonna take a little time off from Ewing Oil when you get out of school for the Christmas break, and you and I are gonna spend some time together here on the ranch. I'll teach you how to rope, everything.  That's stuff you're gonna need to know growin' up here on a ranch."

"What if I'm not here that long?"  Jacob asks.

"What?  Why wouldn't you be here?"

"I'm never anywhere for very long.  I was with the Reeds longer than I've been anyplace else."

Christopher looks at the boy sadly, his heart breaking for the traumatic life his stepson had endured.  "Jacob, listen to me,"  he says, reaching over and putting his hand on the boy's shoulder.  Southfork is your home now.  And it's always gonna be your home.  Those days of you being shuffled back and forth from orphanages to foster parents..... those days are gone.  Because you're HOME, with your real family now."

"Courtney's my mother, but you're not my father."

"No, you're right, I'm not.  But I sure wish I was.  I'd like to be a father to you, if you'll let me.  Jacob, I want you to know that, in this house, in this FAMILY, you're loved.  You're wanted.  And you're safe, because I promise that I will NEVER let anyone hurt you again."

Jacob turns his back to Christopher and walks over to the dresser.  "Why did she give me away?"  The boy asks, following a brief silence.

"What?"

Jacob turns back and looks at Christopher.  "Courtney.  Why did she give me away when I was born?  Why didn't she want me then?"

Christopher stands and walks over to the child, being careful not to bump his head on the low attic ceiling.  "Jacob, your mother DID want you."

"Then why did she put me up for adoption?"

"When you were born, your mother was very young.  She was only 15, younger than Alex is now.  She wasn't able to raise you.  She thought that giving you up for adoption, she was doing what was best for you.  You understand that, don't you?"

"I guess."

"As soon as Courtney was able to, she started looking for you,"  Christopher says.  "And now that we've found you, this is your home from now on.  You are happy here, aren't you?"

"I guess so.  It's better than any other place I've been."

Christopher smiles.  "Good.  Now, why don't you finish getting ready, put your hat on, and come on downstairs before the Barbecue starts?"

Jacob nods.

"Okay,"  Christopher says.  "I'll see you in a few."  He winks at the boy, then starts to leave.

"Christopher,"  the boy says.

Christopher stops in the doorway, and turns back to see Jacob wearing the hat he'd just given him.  "Yes, Jacob?"

"Thanks for  the hat."

Christopher smiles.   "You're welcome, buddy," he says, then walks out.

Jacob walks to the mirror and looks at himself.  A slight smile comes to the boy's face as he sees himself wearing Christopher's old hat.

Southfork....later....

By mid-afternoon, the annual Ewing Barbecue was in full swing, and guests continue to arrive.  A live band plays country and western music while the bar is open and guests mingle and socialize over glasses of bourbon.  Bobby

and Ann are chatting with some friends as they greet arriving guests when Ray and Donna walk over to them, accompanied by Heath.  "Well, Ray, Donna,"  Bobby says.

"Hello, brother-in-law,"  Donna says, greeting Bobby with a kiss.

"Heath, glad you could make it,"  Bobby says.

Heath smiles.  "I appreciate that, Uncle Bobby."

"You can just call me Bobby."

"Sure thing......Bobby,"  says Heath.

"Looks like  this is gonna be one of the best Barbecues in a long time,"  Ray says.

"We think so, too,"  says Ann.

"And let's just hope there's none of the usual drama this year,"  says Bobby.

"Oh, come on, now."  Donna says with a smile.  "It wouldn't be a Ewing event if there were no drama, or a fist fight or two."

Bobby, Ann, and Ray laugh at her comment.

Meanwhile, John Ross and Krystina are walking around, greeting guests and friends, John Ross carrying a Bud Light in one hand, and Krystina smiling happily as she wears a maternity gown, her pregnancy now entering its seventh month and clearly showing.  "Frank, how ya doin', bud?"  John Ross greets an old friend who walks by and shakes his hand.

"John Ross, Krystina,"  says another couple, who approaches them.

"Charlie, Sandra, how y'all been?"  John Ross.

"Just fine,"  Charlie replies.

"Krystina, congratulations,"  Sandra says, giving Krystina a hug.  "When are you due?"

"February,"  Krystina says with a smile.

"Well, we're so happy for you,"  says Sandra.

"Aren't you gonna tell 'em OUR big news?"  Charlie asks his wife.

"What news?"  Krystina asks.

"Charlie and I are expecting, too."

"What?  Sandra, that's wonderful,"  says Krystina, hugging her friend again.

"Charlie, congratulations, bud,"  John Ross says, shaking the other young man's hand.

"Thanks, John Ross.  Well, we'll talk to you both later."

"It's great seeing you both,"  Krystina tells the couple as they walk away.

"Well, imagine that,"  says John Ross.

"I think this year's Barbecue is the best one I've been to so far,"  Krystina says.  "Everyone is having fun, and we just got some good news."

"Well, I would agree, darlin', had I not just seen my brother walk in here with my ex-wife,"  says John Ross, pulling his sunglasses down slightly.

Krystina looks over and sees Justin and Pamela arriving at the Barbecue with Pamela's two small children.  "Well, we really should go over and say hi."

"You do that.  I'm gonna go grab another beer."

"John Ross, Justin IS your brother,"  says Krystina.  Besides, it's too late, they're heading this way."

"Hey, Krystina,"  Justin says as he and Pamela walk up to them.

"Hello, Justin.  Pamela."

"Krystina, you're looking lovely,"  Pamela says.

"Thank you, and so are you.  And the kids are adorable."

"Thanks.  I suppose I really should get them up to the nursery,"  Pamela says.  "Excuse me."

"I'll come with ya,"  Justin says.

"No, you stay and visit with John Ross and Krystina.  I'll be back down soon."

"Okay,"  Justin says, kissing Pamela, the sight of which makes John Ross cringe.  Pamela smiles, then walks away carrying her infant son Randall, and holding little Hunter by the hand as she heads to the house with the two kids.

"The kids are really getting big,"  says Krystina.

"Yeah, they are."

"Justin, you really seem happy these days,"  Krystina says.

"I am, Krystina,"  Justin says.  "Happier'n I've ever been in my life.  And that's all thanks to Pamela and those two beautiful little boys."

Krystina smiles.  "Then, I'm very happy for you," she says, kissing her brother-in-law on the cheek. "And so's John Ross.  RIGHT, John Ross?"

"Oh yeah, I'm just ecstatic," John Ross replies sarcastically.  "Can't ya tell?  If y'all will excuse me, I could use another beer, or maybe somethin' a little stronger."  John Ross turns and walks away from his wife and brother, leaving Justin angry.

"Why the hell does he have to be like that?"  Justin asks.

"You know John Ross's history with Pamela,"  Krystina says.  "With the whole Barnes family.  Give him time, Justin. He'll come around."

"Well, he'd better come around, because.......I asked Pamela to marry me and she said yes, so John Ross had better get use to havin' her around."

"You're getting married?  Justin, that's wonderful.  Congratulations!  I'm so happy for you,"  Krystina says, hugging him.

"Thanks.  I just wish the rest of the fam'ly would feel that way."

Meanwhile, John Ross walks over to the bar.  "Gimme a Bourbon," he says.  The bartender reaches into a large barrel filled with ice and pulls out a bottle of beer, handing it to John Ross, who immediately opens the beer and takes a sip.

"Hi, John Ross,"  says Jill as she and Jay walk up to him.

"Well, hello to the Smithfields."

"You seem in a bad mood,"  says Jay.

"What's wrong?"  Jill asks.  "Has a fight broken out already?"

"Our little brother arrived with Pamela,"  replies John Ross.  "That can always ruin an otherwise good day."

"Well, what'd you expect, John Ross?"  Asks Jay.  "I mean, they have been seeing each other for several months now."

"I would've hoped little brother would've had better sense than to bring a Barnes here to the Barbecue, especially given the new tensions between the Ewings and the Barnes after what that snake of a brother of Pamela's pulled."

"John Ross, I don't like her anymore than you do, but, Justin seems rather smitten with your ex-wife, so, there's nothing we can do about it," Jill says.  "And, what stunt did Brad Stone pull?  I haven't heard about this."

John Ross looks at Jay for a few seconds.

"Yeah, I guess that's my cue to make myself scarce," says Jay, who quickly walks away from his wife and John Ross.

"Okay, so what did Stone do?"  Jill asks.

"He dug into Krystina's past, and found this very unsavory cousin of hers.  The blacksheep of the Carrington fam'ly, you might say.  Stone paid this cousin to come to Dallas to harass my wife."

"Oh my gosh.  Why?"

"To mess with Krystina's nerves, and cause problems between the two of us,"  replies John Ross.  "Stone figured that way, I'd be vulnerable and he could take advantage of that."

"I'm surprised that I haven't heard about you bringing the sky down on top of Brad Stone's head,"  Jill says.

"Oh, don't worry.  I'm gonna make Brad Stone wish he'd never been born.  But right now, I'm bidin' my time so I can catch that son of a bitch off guard when he's least expectin' it."

Meanwhile, Christopher and Courtney have been chatting with Christopher's friend, Dr. Ryan Benson and his date to the Barbecue, an attractive blonde.  Ryan and the young woman shake hands with the couple, then walk away.  Christopher and Courtney then look across the crowd and see Jacob, who is hanging out with Michael.  The two smile as they watch the boys together.

"Jacob seems to love that hat you gave him,"  Courtney says.

"I hope so."

Courtney turns to her husband.  "Christopher, I don't know how to thank you."

"Thank me?  For what?"

"For being so wonderful.  For helping me to find my son, and for treating Jacob like your own son."

"Courtney, as far as I'm concerned, Jacob IS my son," says Christopher.  "I love that little guy, and I wanna do everything I can to make him feel that Southfork is his home."

"I'll never know how I got so lucky."

Christopher smiles.  "I'm the lucky one," he says, then kisses his wife.

"Alright, you two, break it up,"  says Lucas as he and Heather walk over to them.

Courtney and Christopher laugh.  "Sorry,"  Courtney says.  "I guess we're still acting like newlyweds."

"Technically, we ARE still newlyweds,"  Christopher says.

"Well, we definitely know that feels," says Heather.  "Lucas and I still feel like newlyweds ourselves."

"Yes, we do,"  Lucas agrees.

"So, isn't it great to see the boys getting along so well?"  Heather asks.

"Christopher and I were just talking about that," says Courtney.  "They're so cute together."

"Hey, Chris, I have an idea,"  Lucas says. "How about next weekend, you and I take the boys fishing?"

"Sounds like a good idea. Let's do it,"  Christopher says.  "Come on.  Let's go over and tell the boys and see how they like the idea."

"You guys go ahead,"  Courtney says.  "I wanna ask Heather's opinion on something."

"Okay,"  Lucas says.  He and Christopher walk over to where Michael and Jacob are sitting.

"Hey, fellas,"  Christopher says as they approach the boys.

"Hey,"  says Michael.  "What's up?"

"Well, we wanted to talk to you fellas about something."

"About what?"  Michael asks.

"How'd you guys like to go fishing next Saturday?" Lucas asks.

"Really?" Asks an excited Michael.

"Yeah, really,"  Christopher replies.  "Your Dad and I are gonna take you and Jacob fishing next weekend.  There's this place our Dad use to take me when I was growin' up."

"Use to take you?"  Jacob asks.  "What about Lucas?  Didn't your Dad take him, too?"

The smiles disappear from the faces of Christopher and Lucas as the brothers exchange awkward looks between them.  "Umm, no,"  Christopher.  "My Dad never got to take Lucas."

"How come?"

"Because my Dad didn't grow up here,"  says Michael.

"Really?"  Jacob asks, looking at Lucas.

"Yeah, it's a long story,"  Christopher says.  "I'll tell you about it one day."

A sad look on his face, Lucas turns and walks away from the others.  Christopher watches his brother, concerned about him.

"I'll be right back," he says.  Christopher hurries to catch up to Lucas as he heads to the bar.  "Hey, Lucas."

"Yeah."

"You okay?  I could tell that kinda got to you, Jacob's questions."

"I'm fine, Christopher,"  Lucas says, arriving at the bar.  "Bourbon, please."

"Still bothers you, doesn't it?"  Christopher asks.  "That Dad didn't raise you."

"I know it sounds stupid.  I thought that I'd put this behind me, but........"

"But you're still angry?"

Lucas turns and looks at his brother.  "I've tried to get over it.  I know that nothing can change the past, but the fact remains that you were still the favorite son.  The one Dad raised.  And I guess you'll always be the favorite son."

"Lucas, you know that's not true,"  Christopher says.

"Let's just forget it, okay?" Lucas asks, then walks away.

Across the crowd, Conner walks up to another one of the three bars set up around the grounds.  "Hey, let me get a beer."  The young bartender reaches into a cooler and pulls out a Bud Light, handing it to Conner as Conner takes

notice of a beautiful blonde girl across the crowd.

"Cute little number, itn't she?" The bartender asks.

"Oh, yeah, she is,"  Conner replies as he continues to look in the girl's direction.

C.J. walks over.  "Well, looks like you're daydreaming about something,"  he says.

Conner smiles.  "Hey, what's up, cousin?  You just getting here?"

"Yeah, I had a few things to take care of before I came over,"  C.J. replies.  "I talked to Eric."

"Oh?  And, how'd it go?"

"It went well.  We talked for almost an hour and a half on the phone, which is why I'm late.  I took your advice, and I think Eric and I got to know each other a little."

"MY advice?"  Conner asks.

"Yeah, don't you remember?  A while back you advised me that I might regret it if I let the opportunity to get to know my brother slip through my fingers.  So, I decided to give him a call. Eric said that his father's trial is set to begin right after the first of the new year.  And he's planning to come to Dallas for Christmas, so, we're gonna try and see each other then."

Conner smiles again.  "I'm really happy to hear that, C.J.  I hope that you and Eric can forge some kind of relationship."

"Yeah, me too,"  C,.J. says.  "Oh, hey, speaking of brothers.......is YOUR brother okay?  He's walking around over there, and he looks a little.....off."

Conner turns around and sees Dylan walking by himself near the fence, looking as if he is in a daze.  "I'd better go check on him."

"Yeah, I'll come with you."

Conner and C.J.  walk over to him.  "Dylan?"  Conner says.

Dylan turns to Conner and C.J.  "Oh, hey," he says.

"You okay?"  Conner asks.

"Yeah.  I.....I'm fine,"  Dylan replies.  "Just feeling a little sick to my stomach, is all."

"Think it could be something you ate?"  C.J. asks.

"Yeah, that's probably it.  Something I ate."

"Do you need me to take you home?"  Conner asks.

"No.  I'll be fine.  You two go and have fun and don't worry about me."

"Bro, you do look a little peaked,"  says C.J.

"Yeah, why don't you go in the house and lie down for a while, see if that helps?"  Conner suggests.

"Hey, is everything okay?"   Jimmy asks, walking over to them.

"Dylan says he's feeling a little sick,"  replies Conner.  "Would it be okay if he went into the house and layed down for a little while until he's feeling better?"

"Yeah, sure.  Dylan, why don't you go lay down in my room?"  Jimmy says.   "It's downstairs, all the way at the end of the hall."

"Yeah, my old room,"  says Conner.

"Oh, that's right, I forgot you use to live here, too."

"Dylan, are you gonna take Jimmy up on his suggestion and use his room for a little while?"  Conner asks.

"Yeah, I think I will.  Thanks, Jimmy."

"Sure, man no problem,"  Jimmy says.  "And, I hope you feel better soon and can enjoy the rest of the day."

Dylan nods, then walks away from them toward the house.  "Dylan, you gonna be okay?"  Conner asks his brother.  "Need me to come with you?"

"No, I don't.  I'm not a kid, ya know,"  Dylan replies as he continues on to the house.  Conner, C.J., and Jimmy begin talking with each other.

A couple of minutes later, Dylan walks into the living room through one of the French doors leading in from the back porch.  He pauses near the fireplace and makes sure no one is around, then he takes his whiskey flask from his pocket, opens it, and takes a sip.  As he starts to head down the hall to Jimmy's room, Dylan notices the bar in the living room.  He pauses, looking at the bar for a moment.  Unable to resist the temptation, he goes over to the bar and looks at several bottles of bourbon just sitting there.  Meanwhile, Alex comes down the stairs in the foyer, and as he enters the living room, he sees Dylan standing at the bar, Dylan's back to him.  Curious as to what Dylan is doing, Alex watches him for a few seconds as Dylan looks at the bottles of bourbon.  Dylan looks around.  Alex ducks back into the foyer so as not to be seen.  After a few seconds, Alex peeks into the living room and watches as

Dylan picks up one of the bottles of bourbon and slips it into his jacket.

"What's wrong with the booze outside?"  Alex asks, startling Dylan, who turns to face him.

"Dude, what the hell?  Don't you know better than to sneak up on someone?"

"Don't YOU know better than to steal?"  Alex asks.

"I......I wasn't stealing it, I was just........"

"Why are you in here, anyway?  The party's outside."

"I wasn't feeling well, so, Jimmy said I could come in and lie down in his room until I felt better."

"And you thought THAT would make you feel better?"  Alex asks.  "Dude, whatever.  Just take it.  I'm not gonna say anything."

"You.....you won't?"

"Nope, but only on one condition."

"What's that?"  Dylan asks.

Alex walks over to him.  "Let me have a sip.  Only way I can get any booze around here is to sneak it when nobody's looking."

Dylan looks at the boy and slightly smiles.  "Yeah, sure," he says, handing Alex the bottle.  He watches as Alex opens the bourbon and takes two sips, then hands it back to him.

"Sorry you're feeling so bad,"  Alex says with a smile.  "I'm sure that'll make it better."  He turns and walks out of the house.

Dylan looks at the bottle in his hand, and after a brief hesitation, he continues down the hall to Jimmy's room.

Meanwhile, back at the Barbecue outside, Ray and Donna are greeting old friends when they see the elderly Mavis Anderson approaching with her two grandsons, Detective Craig Anderson of the Dallas PD and his younger brother, Scott.

"Mavis, hello, how are you?"  Donna says, greeting the elderly woman with a smile and a hug.

"Hello, dear."

"Mavis, how are ya?"  Ray asks.

"I'm just fine,"  Mavis replies.  "You remember my grandsons, Craig and Scott?"

"Sure do,"  replies Ray.  "Craig, Scott."

"Nice to see you again Mr. Krebbs.  Mrs. Krebbs,"  says Scott.

Craig looks across the crowd and sees Jill standing alone at the bar.  A smile comes to his face.  "Would you all excuse me?"  He asks.  "Scott, can you take care of Grandma for a while?"

"Yeah, sure," replies Scott.  Craig walks away from them.

"Mavis, you're certainly looking well,"  says Donna.  "How've you been feeling?"

"Oh, I've been feeling just fine, Ann," Mavis replies, her answer immediately wiping the smiles off the faces of Ray and Donna.

"This isn't Ann, Grandma,"  Scott says, correcting her.  "This is Donna."

"Oh, I'm sorry, dear."

"That's quiet alright,"  Donna says, smiling awkwardly.

"Grandma, why don't you go over and sit down at that table right over there?"  Scott asks, pointing to a table and chair nearby.

"Alright,"  Mavis says.  Using her cane, she walks the short distance to the table and takes a seat as Scott, Ray, and Donna watch her.

"I apologize for that,"  Scott says to the Krebbs.  "She gets really confused sometimes, especially if she hasn't seen you in a while."

"It's alright,"  says Donna.  "Scott, I had no idea Mavis's condition had gotten this bad."

"Well, she still has some good days, but, unfortunately, this isn't one of them.  In fact, we weren't even coming at all, but Grandma got really insistent that we come.  She said she never misses a Ewing Barbecue and she doesn't intend to start now.  But then, on the way over here, she asked where we were going, and when we told her, she said she couldn't wait to see Miss Ellie."

"Oh my Lord,"  Donna says sadly.

"Scott, I'm sorry,"  says Ray.

"Is there anything we can do for you, or for your grandmother?"

"Well, maybe if you could stop by and see her sometime?  The doctor said that sometimes, seeing familiar faces might help with the memories of some Alzheimer's patients.  But, I'm afraid there isn't anything anyone can do.  Her condition isn't gonna get any better, it's only gonna get worse.  We have a private nurse staying with her every night now because she tends to get up in the middle of the night and wander.  One night, before we hired the nurse, I found her standing outside by the pool."

"Dear God,"  says Donna.

"Excuse me, I'd better see to her,"  Scott says, then walks over to join his grandmother.

"Ray, I......I hate seeing Mavis like this,"  Donna says.

"So do I.  I just pray to God that we never have to deal with anything like Alzheimer's."

Meanwhile, Craig Anderson approaches Jill at the bar.  "Hello, Jill," he says.

"Craig, hi.  I didn't know  you would be here."

"Yeah, I came with my brother and my grandmother.  How are you?"

"I'm just fine."

"Jay with you?"  Craig asks.

"Of course.  He's over there talking to my Uncle Bobby and Ann and Sue Ellen."

"You know, I've been thinking a lot about you over the past few months, ever since I first saw you again at Jay's grandmother's funeral after all those years.  I'd really hoped that you would've used that number I gave you and called me."

"And I told you back then that I didn't think it was a good idea."

"Well, in case you don't still have my number, and you ever change your mind and wanna get together for a drink to catch up or talk over old high school days, here,"  Craig says, handing her a business card with his cell  phone number.  "Call me anytime."

"Well, well, Craig Anderson,"  Jay says, walking over to his wife and Craig.

"Jay, how are you?"  Craig asks, shaking hands with Jay.

"I'm great.  Good to see you here.  I see you and my wife are getting acquainted."

"Actually, RE-acquainted,"  Craig says, looking at Jill with a smile.

"Oh, that's right, I forgot.  You two went to school together, didn't you?"

"Yes, we did,"  Jill replies.

"Well, I'd better go and see how my grandmother's doing,"  says Craig.  "It's good to see you both."

"Yeah, you, too, man,"  Jay says as the young detective walks away.  Jay watches Craig for a few seconds as he makes his way through the crowd to where Mavis and Scott are sitting.  "If I didn't know better,"  Jay says.  "I'd say he had a major crush on you."  He looks at Jill.

"That's ridiculous,"  she says.

"Oh, I don't think it's so ridiculous,"  says Jay.  "If you weren't already my wife, I would have one hell of a crush on you."

Meanwhile, Bobby is walking with Jenna.  "Bobby, I just wanted to thank you for coming to tell me the news about Katherine the other day,"  Jenna says.

"Well,of course.  Katherine is the one who nearly destroyed your life all those years ago, and Charlie's.  I felt you had a right to know."

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.  I suppose in the back of my mind, I always suspected that Katherine was behind Naldo's murder.  It all certainly made sense."

"Are you alright, Jenna?  I hope that my telling you about Katherine didn't dredge up painful memories."

"It did,"  Jenna says.  "But I'm glad I know.  As for whether or not I'm alright, no, Bobby, I'm not.  I won't be alright until that bitch is caught and suffers for the rest of her miserable life for what she did to me.  To US.  Ever since you told me that Katherine was behind Naldo's murder, and probably his showing up to kidnap Charlie, I've thought of........of that day we were to be married back in 1984.  The day Naldo showed up and told me that he had Charlie, and forced me to go with him.  I keep playing over in my mind how different things would've been if Naldo hadn't shown up.  You and I would've been married that day.  We might still be married now."

"Or we could've been divorced years ago,"  Bobby says.

Jenna shakes her head.  "I don't wanna believe that.  You were, and still are, my one great love.  I think that's why my marriage to Ray eventually failed.  Because for both of us, our hearts belonged to someone else......his to Donna, and mine to you."

"Jenna, we shouldn't be talking like this,"  Bobby says.

"I'm sorry, but I can't help it.  God help me, Bobby, I AM still in love with you.  I don't think I really realized just how much I love you until you came to see me that day."  After a brief pause, Jenna reaches up, and pulls Bobby into a passionate kiss.

Meanwhile, walking nearby, looking for her husband, is Ann, who stops when she sees Bobby with Jenna, the two locked in a kiss.  Ann's heart sinks as she fights back tears upon seeing Bobby kissing his former fiance and childhood sweetheart.

But Ann isn't the only Ewing witnessing the kiss between Bobby and Jenna.  Standing nearby is Lucas, who is also watching his parents in shock.  Lucas looks over and sees Ann, who is now in tears as she turns and rushes back toward the house.  Lucas's gaze turns from Ann back to his parents, as he wonders how his father could do this to Ann....

Another great episode. Durring the latter years Dallas was on in the late 80s there were great episodes and then there were boring ones. Yours are almost all great. You never let me down. I love all the story lines you have going. Cant wait to see what happens with Bobby and Jenna.

Drama, drama, drama. And lots of it. I never felt so much like slapping Jenna as I did reading this. She is not a very nice person. Plus she hurt Ann. This was an excellent episode. Thank you John

I think Bobby & Ann will be ok until Bobby finds out Ann & Emma’s little secret. I am hoping the two of them can stick it out!!! Love these two only because Bobby can no longer be with Pam (my favorite all time couple).

Please John get help for Dylan, this poor child has suffered enough in his short life.

A little disappointed in the BBQ because NOBODY ended up in the pool, not yet anyway, lol

Love your work John, always keeps me on my toes or the edge of my seat. Can’t wait for the next episode!!

I agree with you Janie! But not a nice person or not, Jenna Wade always has had feelings for Bobby Ewing, and he has had feelings for her. We both know this. She settled for his brother Ray, Ray settled for her when he really wanted to be with Donna! Even when he was with Pam, she still was much more in love with him! But Bobby was lucky enough to be in love with two women in Pam and Jenna Wade. I think he settled for April Stevens, and I know he loves Ann! But she depises Ann, no doubt about it. Ann depises her too. Just sayin!

Sorry about that other comment, that was mine, and I put your name accidentally. But anyway, I'm glad about about the videos that were shown of Jenna Wade during the murders of Veronica Robinson and Naldo Marchette, Charlie's father. Katherine Wentworth was behind the framing of Jenna Wade as well as the murders.

This is a joke right? Justin and Pamela getting married? Justin is about the dumbest man on the face of the planet! Why would you want to marry so soon? You just got out of a marriage, you too Pamela! Geez Louise! You all been married for two months. And Justin, Pamela is about to get married for the fourth time, she better get it right this time. And Cliff, Afton, Brad, and Tripp are going to be furious about this!

    Derek Mathews (Sunday, 31 December 2017 15:17)

I agree Teri! Dylan needs some serious help! He's abusing alchol, and he's supposedly stealing from his family, he's lying to his brother, and the funny thing is he's a TERRIBLE liar! Just flat out terrible! I mean damn, people can see you stumbling and sweating for god sake! They know you are a little off at the end of the day. And Alex catches you stealing, good lord! And while I don't agree with Bobby and Jenna kissing, those two have a lot of history! Bobby has always had feelings for Jenna Wade, even when he was with Pam both times, and Lucas doesn't really understand his parents history either even though he's a Ewing too!

  • #15

    Derek Mathews (Sunday, 31 December 2017 15:25)

And yes Teri, I would have hoped that somebody ended up in the pool because that is always a Southfork Ewing Barbecue tradition! Believe it or not, I wanted Jenna Wade to end up in that pool last year or two after what went down between Emma and Jenna. I either wanted Emma to push Jenna Wade in, or Ann to push Jenna Wade in! ROTFLMAO! Either way, I wanted her in that pool bad because she was so bitter, and rigid it was unbelievable!

    Derek Mathews (Sunday, 31 December 2017 15:52)

I thought I was seeing a ghost when I saw the twin brother of Andre Shuman, who is basically George Shuman. To have that letter Andre Shuman wrote saying that he murdered Veronica Robinson, and Naldo Marchette is exactly what Bobby has needed for the past 32 years. And then Katherine paid him immensely to do the murders and frame Jenna Wade. Her motive was simple; to get Jenna Wade out of the way for good so she could have Bobby to herself.

I'm proud that John Ross is giving his blessing to Caitlin, and Sue Ellen. His toast was just the kind of toast that I thought he would make, no doubt about it. But give your beautiful mother away because I'm sure that would make you, and her happy. Good to also see you and CJ shake hands as well!

  • #18

    Derek Mathews (Sunday, 31 December 2017 16:13)

That was a great talk to Jacob Christopher made. I think Jacob is going to be okay at the end of the day, and everything. Christopher is going to be a really good father, and he's already a very good husband! I'm glad he has a little family of his own, and has become a family man right now.

  • #19

    Derek Mathews (Sunday, 31 December 2017 16:26)

I wish that Justin and John Ross would stop dating the same women! Good Lord, first Amanda, now Pamela. But Justin is about to marry someone who is about to have her fourth marriage, and that's crazy. Anybody who has had more than three marriages, or about to have their fourth marriage has serious red flags around them! Justin should have known better, or at least waited till he got to know Pamela to do this. But if I were John Ross, I would cringe at the sight of my younger brother messing around with my ex-wife too.

    Derek Mathews (Sunday, 31 December 2017 17:11)

Katherine Wentworth deserves everything she is going to get. She's also very calculating, very beautiful, very smart, and very clever. That's what makes criminals like her hard to catch, and she is very resourceful.

    Julia Cherri (Tuesday, 02 January 2018 20:45)

Oh my goodness! So much drama with the entire family. Sometimes I think that John Ross is still in love with Pamela because he gets so upset when he sees her with someone new. Justin has now fell in love with two of John Ross's wives. I love both of them, (John Ross and Justin). They are alike in so many ways. Sure hope that Pamela does not hurt Justin cause he really loves her. Looking forward to the big wedding of Sue Ellen and Caitlin and I am glad that John Ross will walk her down the isle. Bobby, Bobby what are you doing? He is letting his heart rule his better judgement and that is not good. He and Jenna probably do still have feeling for each other, but they could and probably already have hurt so many people. Ann is a good wife to Bobby and he best not lose her. Hope little Jacob will be able to continue living at Southfork, with Christopher and Courtney. Wonder if Lucas will ever find out that Emma's baby is his. Dylan needs help and Connor knows it. He should ask Ray to get him some help. I could go on and on with questions about each of them so I can hardly wait for the next episode. Thank you so much of this wonderful exciting episode. You are such a good writer. I thank you for all your hard work. May G0d Bless You Always!

Omg...is Bobby going to leave Ann for Jenna when he finds out that she kept a secret from him again. On to the next episode... gotta catch up...lol
