The Wentworth mansion....

"You and I have some unfinished business, Katherine,"  Jeremy Lord says, closing the door of the Wentworth mansion after forcing his way in.

"Jeremy, that blood on your shirt,"  Katherine says.  "What have you done with Richard?  Where is he, Jeremy?  Where is my husband?"

"Richard Channing is the least of your worries, Katherine.  You and I are going to discuss my children, and why you kept them away from me."

"You can go straight to hell, Jeremy,"  Katherine says.  "Now where is my husband?"

"Richard is out of your life for good."

"I'm calling the police,"  Katherine says, rushing over to a table and picking up the phone.

"Yes, why don't you just do that?"  Jeremy asks, walking over to her.  "I'm sure the police would be very interested in knowing what's been going on here.  So go ahead and call them."

Katherine hesitates as she thinks about her children, and the trouble she would bring on them if she involved the police.  She puts the phone down and turns to Jeremy.

"Why, Katherine?"  He asks.  "It wasn't enough that you deprived me of knowing Austin.  That you lied to me and told me that my son was dead.  But you deprived me of the knowledge of the very existence of Brian and Katelyn.  And I'm trying very hard right now to control myself, because if I lose control, I will strangle you with my bare hands.  Why?  Why have you done this?"

"You wanna know why I kept the children from you?  I did it to protect them.  To protect them and shelter them from YOU, Jeremy."

"You bitch.  You think you had any right to keep my own children from me?  You made the biggest mistake of your life, Katherine.  A mistake that I intend to see that you pay for, and very dearly."

Katherine reaches into her pocket and pulls out a .38 revolver, pointing it directly at Jeremy's chest.  "If anyone pays, Jeremy, it's going to be YOU,"  she says coldly, a look of pure hate on her face.

Jeremy returns Katherine's look of hatred with one of his own as he stands face to face with the woman who had kept him from his children for 23 years....

The Wentworth mansion....

"Now, you're going to tell me where my husband is,"  Katherine says to Jeremy Lord as she points a gun directly at his chest.

"Richard Channing is out of your life for good, Katherine,"  Jeremy says, slowly moving toward her.  "He's dead."

"No,"  Katherine says.  "Don't you come any closer.  I swear, I won't hesitate to kill you right here."

"Technically, you killed me a long time ago when you lied to me and told me that my son was dead.  And now, I find out after all these years that you kept two other children from me."

"Because I wasn't about to let you contaminate my children.  You took Jonathon from me.  No way in HELL was I going to let you have Austin, Brian, and Katelyn."

"I did very well by Jonathon,"  says Jeremy.  "Can you say the same about our other three offspring?  Especially the two you gave away.  Discarded like a pair of shoes you didn't want."

"You shut up.  I gave those babies away because I loved them and wanted to protect them from a monster like you. And if I could've gotten Jonathon out of that house, I would have."

"And then Jonathon might have turned out like Brian and Katelyn,"  says Jeremy.  "It's nothing short of a miracle that Austin turned out as fine as he did with a mother like you."

"Damn you, Jeremy.  I should blow a hole in your chest right now. But not before you tell me where my husband is and what you've done with him," Katherine says.

"I already told you.  Richard Channing is dead."

"I don't believe you.  You're LYING!"

"I'm not lying.  Richard is dead and it's all because of you and your lies."

"You son of a bitch,"  Katherine says, aiming the gun directly at Jeremy's chest as he moves closer to her.  Before she can pull the trigger, Jeremy grabs the gun and the two struggle over the weapon for a moment.  Jeremy forces Katherine against the wall, holding her hand and the gun straight up.  As she struggles against his powerful grip, the gun suddenly goes off, firing a shot into the ceiling.

The basement....

Jimmy is awakened by the sound of the gunshot upstairs.  His eyes open and he looks around the semi darkened basement.  What could be going on upstairs?  He wonders to himself.  He sits up in bed, still shaken from what had been done to him the night before.  Standing to his feet, he walks to the door of the cage in which he is being held captive and places his hands on the bars.  He listens for any further sounds.  Hearing nothing, Jimmy wonders if he had been dreaming....

Meanwhile....

Upstairs, Jeremy has overpowered Katherine and wrestled the gun from her hands.  He stands over her as she sits on the floor, her back against the wall.  He points the gun down at her, his face full of hate for his former wife.  "And now, my dear," he says.  "It's time for you to pay for all the crimes you've committed against me and against my children."

The basement....

Still listening for sounds from upstairs, Jimmy believes he heard something.  "HELP!!!"  He yells out.  "IS ANYONE THERE?  PLEEEEASE HELP MEEEE!!!!"

Upstairs....

"Heeelp!!!!"

Upon hearing Jimmy's screams from the basement, Jeremy turns his back on Katherine.  "What was that?"  He asks.

"What?"

"I heard something.  Someone calling for help.  It sounded as if it came from the basement."  Jeremy walks over to the basement door.

"Heeelp meeee!!!"  Jimmy yells again.

"Who the hell is down there?"  Jeremy asks.

With Jeremy's back to her, Katherine slowly stands to her feet.  Jeremy is about to open the door leading to the basement, but before he can do so, he hears a noise behind him.  As he turns around, Katherine hits hit across the head with a lamp, knocking him to the floor unconscious.

Katelyn rushes down the stairs and immediately sees her father on the floor, Katherine standing over him with the lamp in her hand.  Mother and daughter exchange looks.

Southfork....

As Bobby, Heather, Michael, Lucas, Lucy, and Krystina watch, Justin is loaded into the back of an ambulance at Southfork.  "I'm goin' with him,"  Bobby says.

"I'll follow in my car," Lucas says.

"Alright son.  You did the right thing in gettin' Justin back here."

"I knew It'd been hard for the ambulance to get to him out there on the ranch, so I called for the chopper to come pick us up."

"Mama, is Justin gonna be okay?"  Michael asks.

"I'm sure he's gonna be fine, sweety,"  Heather replies to her son's question.

"I think I'm gonna call Pamela,"  Lucy says.  "She'd wanna know what's happened."

"Sir, we gotta go,"  one of the paramedics tells Bobby.

"Alright,"  Bobby says with a nod,, then climbs into the back of the ambulance.

"I'll see you at the hospital, Dad,"  Lucas says.

Bobby waves to his son.  The paramedic closes the doors, then gets into the cab of the ambulance, which then speeds away from the ranch, its siren blaring loudly.

"Lucas, let us know how Justin is doing,"  Lucy says.

"I will,"  Lucas replies, getting into his car.

"I'll come with you,"  Heather says.  "Lucy, Krystina, would you guys mind watching Michael for me?"

"No, of course not, he'll be fine,"  Krystina replies.

"Thanks,"  Heather says.  She gets into Lucas's car with him and they speed away, following the ambulance to the hospital as Lucy, Krystina, and Michael watch.

A country road outside of Dallas....

On a long stretch of open, country road a few miles outside of the Dallas city limits, Richard Channing crawls out of a grassy ditch and manages to stand.  Making his way onto the road, Richard places his hand over his left side, which is bleeding badly from a gunshot wound he sustained earlier during his struggle with Jeremy Lord.  In great pain, dehydrated from the heat of the Texas sun, Richard reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cell phone.  The battery is completely dead.  He looks both ways on the highway.  Not a sign of a car or any other vehicle for as far as he could see.  Richard realizes he is in trouble, but somehow, he has to make it to a phone to call for help.

"Damn you, Jeremy Lord," he says.  "When I find you, I'm gonna kill you and send you straight to hell for this." Feeling weak, Richard begins walking in the direction he remembers that Dallas is.

Somewhere near Texarkana, Texas....

In the wreckage of the Wentworth jet, which had crashed in a field near the town of Texarkana the previous night, Austin Wentworth had been in and out of consciousness all night.  He opens his eyes and sees that daylight has come, but he is so weak he can't move.  He looks around, and thinks he hears something.  The smell of gasoline is strong, indicating a leak. The smell is making Austin nauseous but he is still unable to move.  "Help," he manages to say, his voice so low and weak that it is barely audible.  Austin again hears a noise, but before he can react, he begins to pass out.  He struggles as hard as he can to remain conscious, knowing that if he passed out again, especially with the strong smell of gas, he would die.  Austin's eyelids become so heavy he is unable to keep them open.  As his eyes close, a pair of hands suddenly unbuckles his seat belt, grabs Austin and pull him from his seat.  Barely conscious, Austin can feel himself being dragged from the seat, then out of the plane into the hot summer sun.  Austin's rescuer drags him a good distance away from the wreckage of the plane, then lays him on his back in a shaded area.  Austin partially opens his eyes and he can see the person's legs as they rush back toward the plane.  Unable to stay awake, he loses consciousness again within seconds....

A short time later....

"Hey, dude, can you hear me?"  Austin hears a young male voice ask him.  Austin slowly opens his eyes and sees

a young man of about 17 kneeling beside him.  There is a thick smell of smoke in the air.  "Can you hear me, man?" The boy asks again.

"I.......I hear you,"  Austin replies in a very weak voice.

"Look, don't move, okay.  I'm gonna try and get you outta here.  I just gotta wait for my sister to get back."

"There......there were two others.  In the plane,"  Austin says.

"Only other guy I saw is layin' right over there, and he's dead."

Austin looks to his right and sees the plane's pilot, Matthew, laying a few feet from him.  Matthew's head is bloody, his eyes are closed, and he is completely still.  In terrible pain and using all his strength, Austin manages to prop himself up on his elbow.  Looking in the direction of the plane, he sees that it is on fire.  "You didn't see anyone else?"  He asks.

"No.  Just you and the dead guy.  If there was anyone else in that plane.......sorry, dude, but they didn't make it."

Austin fights back tears.  He lays his head back on the ground, the pain he feels in his ribs almost unbearable. Although he struggles to stay awake, he again slips into unconsciousness.

Memorial Hermann Medical Center, Houston....

Meanwhile, Sly is sitting in one of the waiting rooms at Memorial Hermann Medical Center in Houston, as she continues to wait for word on Phyllis's condition.  Sly walks to a table, where she pours herself a cup of coffee.  She goes over to a row of chairs and takes a seat.  Picking up her cell phone, she looks at the time.  It's been hours since she's had any news on her friend, and she was quickly losing patience.  Just as she takes a sip of her coffee, Phyllis's doctor walks into the room.

"Mrs. Duncan?"  The doctor says.

"Yes,"  Sly says, standing to meet the doctor.  "How is Phyllis?"

"She's stable.  She's in recovery now."

"Doctor, WHAT happened?"  Sly asks.  "We were talking, and all of a sudden, Phyllis couldn't breathe."

"Mrs. Wapner suffered a ruptured aortic aneurysm.  Occasionally it can be a complication of open heart surgery.  She was extremely lucky that we were able to catch it in time.  Had this happened after she was released from the hospital, she wouldn't have had a chance."

"Will Phyllis be alright?"  Sly asks.

"It's still too early for me to be able to answer that, Mrs. Duncan.  Phyllis has been through two very long, complicated, and grueling heart surgeries in the past 24 hours.  If she can make it through the next 48 hours, she has a good chance.  But I have to be honest with you.  Her condition is very critical, and, if I were you, I would contact Phyllis's family."

"I don't understand.  You just said that if she makes it through the next 48 hours, she has a good chance, and now you're talking as if you don't expect Phyllis to pull through."

"I simply want you to be prepared,"  the doctor says.  "Phyllis told me before the surgery that she didn't want her daughter to know about her heart condition.  But, I think she should know what's going on, just in case."

"Yes, I understand,"  Sly says.  "Can I see her.  Please?"

"As soon as Phyllis has been moved to Critical Care, you'll be able to see her, but only for a minute.  I'll let you know. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and check on Phyllis.  Call her daughter, Mrs. Duncan.  She needs to be here."

Sly nods.  "Thank you.  I will," she says.  The doctor turns and walks out of the room.  "Oh my God," Sly says to herself, a tear falling down her cheek.  Sly again picks up her cell phone.  She hesitates for a moment, then unlocks her phone, pulling up her contacts.  Scrolling down to Courtney's number Phyllis had given her earlier, Sly dials the number and waits for an answer.

The Omni Hotel, San Francisco....

In Christopher and Courtney's hotel suite in San Francisco, Courtney's cell phone begins to vibrate on a table.  Sitting on the bed reading over some papers, Christopher gets up, walks over and picks up his wife's phone and looks at it.  He doesn't recognize the number, but answers the call anyway.  "Hello," he says.

"Hello, I'm trying to reach Courtney Ewing,"  Sly says on the other end of the line.

"This is Christopher Ewing, Courtney's husband.  Who's this?"

"Oh, Christopher, hello.  This is Sly Duncan."

"Sly Duncan?"  Christopher asks.

"Yes, Umm, I use to be Sly Lovegren.  I use to work for your Uncle J.R. at Ewing Oil many years ago."

"Yes, of course, I remember you.  Umm, how are you?"

"I'm fine.  Christopher I need to speak with Courtney.  It's about her mother."

"Courtney's in the shower,"  says Christopher.  "What's going on?  What's wrong with Phyllis?"  A worried look comes over Christopher's face as he listens while Sly tells him of Phyllis's heart surgery and subsequent medical emergency.  "Oh my God," he says.  "Will she be alright?"  Christopher asks, then again listens as Sly explains the seriousness of his mother-in-law's condition.  "Yes, I understand.  I'll tell Courtney as soon as she comes out.  Sly, thank you for calling.  We'll be on the first flight we can get to Houston.  Bye."  Christopher puts the phone down. He rubs his lips, worried about how he would tell Courtney the news of her mother's surgery, and how she would take the news on top of everything else they were dealing with.

Courtney comes out of the bedroom, just out of the shower, a towel wrapped around her.  "That shower really felt great," she says.  "It was just what I needed."  Courtney notices that something seems to be bothering her husband.  "Christopher, what's wrong?"

"Sweetheart, I have some news," replies Christopher.  "I just answered a call on your phone from Sly Duncan.  She use to be my Uncle J.R.'s secretary at Ewing Oil."

"Yeah, I know Sly.  She and my Mom have been close friends ever since they worked together at Ewing Oil.  What'd she want?"

"Courtney, Sly was calling with some news about your mother.  I'm afraid it's bad news."

Courtney's heart sinks with fear as she looks at Christopher, worrying and wondering what news he was about to tell her about her mother.

Braddock Medical Center....afternoon

In the waiting room at Braddock Medical Center, Bobby takes out his phone and speed dials Ann's number again, and, as it had each time he had called her today, the call goes straight to her voicemail.  Having already left several voice messages for his wife over the past few hours, he hangs up in frustration.  He sighs deeply, worried about

his wife as well as his nephew.  He considers calling the sheriff, but before he is able to, Pamela walks into the waiting room.

"Bobby," she says.  "Justin, is he alright?  Where is he?"

"Pamela, just calm down, honey.  They're doin' some xrays now.  From what I've already been told, he has a concussion."

"Oh my God.  Bobby, what happened?"

"Justin's horse was spooked by a rattler on the cattle drive.  He was thrown, and hit his head on a rock."

"He......he hit his head on a rock?  Oh, God."

"Pamela, he's gonna be okay.  We have to believe that."

"Have you been able to see him yet?"  Pamela asks.

"Only when they first brought him in,"  says Bobby.  "They've been running tests."

Pamela begins to cry.

"You really do care for my nephew, don't you?"  Bobby asks.

"It's more than that.  I love him, no matter what anyone thinks."

"I really believe that you do."

A doctor walks into the room at that moment.  "Excuse me, you're the family of Justin Ewing?"

"Yes, Justin's my nephew,"  replies Bobby.

"How is he?"  Pamela asks.

"Justin suffered a pretty serious concussion, so I'd like to keep him here in the hospital, at least for a couple days, for observation.  He also has a sprained wrist and some minor bruises."

"But he's gonna be okay?"  Bobby asks.

"Yes, unless there are any complications from his concussion, he'll be fine in a few days."

"Thank God,"  Pamela says.  "Can we see him?"

"Are you Mrs. Ewing?"  The doctor asks.

"No, I'm........Justin's girlfriend."

"Yes, you can both see him, but only for a few minutes.  He may be a little confused at first, but that's nothing to be alarmed about.  We're getting Justin settled into a room.  If you'd like, you can come with him and accompany him upstairs."

"Yes, thank you,"  says Pamela.

Bobby's cell phone rings.  "Pamela, you go on ahead," he says.  "This could be Ann.  I'll catch up."  Pamela nods, then follows the doctor down the hall as Bobby answers his call.  "Annie, honey, I've been worried sick........"  Bobby stops talking suddenly and listens to the person on the other end of the line.  A frightened looks comes over his face.  "Yes, this is Bobby Ewing.  Oh my God.  How bad?  Where is she?  I'll be right there."  Bobby puts his phone away and quickly rushes out of the waiting room, goes down the hall and leaves the hospital.

The Wentworth mansion....

Jimmy is sitting on the bed in his cage when he hears the basement door open and close.  A moment later, Katherine comes down the stairs.

"What was that I heard earlier?"  Jimmy asks.

"Why, whatever do you mean?"

"Sounded like a gunshot."

"That was nothing that concerns you.  I only came down to see how you're doing."

"How I'm DOING?"  Jimmy angrily asks.  "How do you think I'm doing? Your daughter kidnapped me and has kept me locked in this cage for days and days.  And then last night she......."  Jimmy stops.

"Last night, she what?"  Katherine asks, looking at him.

"Last night, your crazy daughter drugged me, tied me to this bed, and raped me."

"Don't you EVER call my daughter crazy!"  Say an angry Katherine, walking over to the cage.

"No sane person would do what Katelyn has done to me.  Your whole family is insane!"

"You shut your mouth, you malicious little punk!  You wanna talk about MY family?  This whole mess is all because of YOUR family!"

"What?"  Jimmy asks, a confused look on his face.  "MY family?"

"If J.R. hadn't poisoned Bobby against me the way that he did, then Bobby and I would've ended up together, and NOTHING would have happened.  Bobby and I could've had a very happy life together.  I would have made him happy."

"You're just as crazy as your nutty daughter," Jimmy says.

"I told you to shut your filthy mouth,"  says Katherine.  "You'll be sorry for what you said.  I don't have the time to take care of you here and now the way I'd like........but I can promise that you'll never see the light of day again."

"So, you're just gonna leave me here to die?"

"That's right.  I have no choice.  Goodbye, Jimmy."  Katherine turns and starts to leave.

"No, wait.......Katherine?"  Jimmy calls to her.  "You can't just leave me down here to die like some animal."

Katherine stops at the stairs and turns back to him.  "I told you......I have no choice.  I have to take care of my daughter and get her far away from here.  Good luck, and.....don't bother screaming.  No one can hear you from outside, and the house will be closed up since I'm taking an extended vacation."  She turns and heads on up the stairs.

"WAIT!!"  Jimmy yells.  "PLEASE!!!  DON'T DO THIS!!!  PLEASE!!!!!"  Jimmy's screams are ignored as he hears Katherine close the door leading upstairs, and he hears her lock the door behind her.  Jimmy begins to cry uncontrollably, certain that he will never get out of this place and that he will die right here in this cage.

A gas station in Dallas....

A pickup truck pulls into a gas station in Dallas and comes to a stop.  "Thanks for the ride,"  Richard Channing tells the driver as he opens the passenger door to get out.

"Yeah, no problem, Mister,"  says the driver, a man of about 50 with slightly gray hair.  "You sure you don't want me to drive you to the nearest hospital?  Or at least call an ambulance for you?"

"Thanks, but I'll be fine.  I wouldn't wanna make you late for work.  And thank you again for the ride."  Richard gets out of the car and closes the door.

"You're welcome,"  says the driver.

As Richard steps out of the truck, he starts to walk toward the store, but suddenly he begins to feel dizzy and faint. He stumbles.  Before he can take another step, he falls to the ground, unconscious.

"Hey, Mister!"  The driver of the truck yells, running over to Richard.  He turns Richard over onto his back.

"Hey, what happened to him?"  Someone asks.

"I don't know,"  replies the driver of the truck.  "I'm calling 911."  He takes his phone from his pocket and dials for an ambulance.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital....

Bobby rushes into the emergency department at Texas Health Presbyterian that afternoon and approaches the nurse's desk.  "Excuse me, I'm Bobby Ewing.  Someone called me about my wife, Ann Ewing,"  he tells the nurse.

"Yes, Mr. Ewing.  I'll page Dr. Fairchild, your wife's attending physician."

"Thank you,"  Bobby says.  He starts to walk across the hall to a waiting room.

"Oh, Mr. Ewing, here comes Dr. Fairchild now,"  the nurse says.

Bobby looks up and sees the doctor coming down the hall.  "Thank you," he says, rushing over to meet him.  "Dr. Fairchild, I'm Bobby Ewing, Ann Ewing's husband."

"Yes, Mr. Ewing."

"How is my wife?"

"She was hurt pretty bad, Mr. Ewing.  She was also severely dehydrated, but we have her in ICU now, giving her fluids.  She's still unconscious."

"And she was in a car accident?"  Bobby asks.

"Yes.  I spoke to a Dallas sheriff's deputy earlier.  According to him, your wife's car went off the road somewhere in the outskirts to Dallas and hit a tree.  The accident must have happened sometime last night, as it was obvious Mrs. Ewing had been there for quite some time.  Luckily, she was found by a group of county inmates who were on a work detail.  One of them spotted your wife's vehicle at the bottom of a ravine.  The correctional officer in charge called for an ambulance."

"Thank God.  Will she be alright?"

"Well, as I said, Mr. Ewing, your wife's injuries are serious," replies Dr. Fairchild.  "She has a head injury and a serious concussion.  We're monitoring her very closely, but, unless their are complications, I don't believe they're life threatening.  My main concern is that she was very badly dehydrated.  We're going to keep her in ICU for at least a day or so, to monitor her closely.  Your wife is very lucky to be alive, Mr. Ewing.  Had she been out there even another hour in that hot sun, she wouldn't have had a chance.  We got her here just in time."

"Can I see her?"  Bobby asks.

"Yes.  Follow me."

Bobby sighs deeply, then follows Dr. Fairchild down the hall.  A few minutes later, Bobby walks into a hospital room in Intensive Care, where he finds an unconscious Ann in bed, hooked up to two I.V.s.  Breathing a sigh of relief upon seeing his wife, he walks over and looks down at Ann, laying there so still, a worried look on his face.  He takes her by the hand.  "Oh, Annie," he says to her.  "What on earth were you doin' out there?  And how'd this accident happen?"

Southfork....

A Southfork pickup truck drives up and comes to a stop in the parking area in rear of the house as John Ross, Alex, and Shawn return from the cattle drive.  Krystina, Heather, and Michael come out of the house to greet them.

"Boy, I don't know about the rest of ya,"  John Ross says as the three get out of the truck.  "But I don't think I've ever been so glad to see anything end as I am to see that cattle drive over."

"I'm right there with you, John Ross,"  says Alex.

"Oh, I dunno, guys,"  Shawn says.  "I thought it was kinda fun."

"Well, maybe we shoulda left you out there with the cows, then,"  John Ross jokes.

Krystina comes up to her husband.  "Hi," she says, giving John Ross a kiss.

"Hey, darlin'.  Best not get too close.  I'm pretty hot and sweaty, and  in dire need of a shower."

"You guys look beat."

"We are,"  says Alex.

"Y'all heard anything from Justin?"  John Ross asks.

"Yeah, Lucas called from the hospital, and Justin's gonna be okay,"  Heather replies.  "He has a concussion and he's bruised up a little, but he'll be fine."

"That's good news,"  John Ross says.  "Think I'll go take a shower and then go in to the hospital and see him."

"John Ross, you must be exhausted,"  Krystina says.

"I am, darlin', but I'd like to see with my own eyes that my little brother's alright."

Lucy comes out of the house.  "Welcome back, guys,"  she says.

"Thanks, Lucy,"  Alex says.

"I'm afraid I have some more bad news,"  says Lucy.

"What, Lucy?  What's happened?"  Krystina asks.

"Bobby just called.  Ann's had an accident.  She's at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas."

"Oh my God,"  says Heather.

"How bad?"  Shawn asks.

"From what Bobby said, she was hurt pretty bad."

"I should go to the hospital,"  Shawn says.  "I need to get cleaned up first."

"Yeah, I'll come with you,"  Alex says, he and Shawn heading to the house.

"I can't believe this,"  Krystina says.  "First Justin, and now Ann."

"Yeah,"  says John Ross.  "Come on.  I'm gonna take a shower and then go see Justin."

The Krebbs Ranch....

Conner walks into the Krebbs home late in the afternoon.  "Dylan?"  He calls out.  When no answer comes, he heads straigt upstairs to Dylan's bedroom.  He hesitates for a moment outside his brother's door, then walks into the room, where he finds Dylan laying across the bed, an empty vodka bottle on the floor beside the bed.

Conner sighs deeply in frustration at his brother's condition.  "Damn it, Dylan," he angrily says.  He picks up the empty vodka bottle and is tempted to smash it against the wall, but he restrains himself.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Donna walks into the house.  She puts her keys down on a table in the foyer, then goes through the dining room and into the kitchen.

Conner comes down the stairs and is about to head into the kitchen.  "Ray is that you?"  He hears Donna call from the kitchen.  Conner is startled to find her home, and stops in his tracks.

"No, Donna, it's me,"  he replies.

Donna comes into the foyer.  "Oh, hi.  I thought you were Ray."

"I didn't know you were home."

"I just walked in a minute ago.  Where's Dylan?"

"He's upstairs, asleep,"  says Conner.

"Asleep?  Didn't he work with you today?"  Donna asks.

"No.  He wasn't feeling well."

"Maybe we should go check on him."

"NO,"  Conner says adamantly.  "I just checked in on him, and like I said, he's asleep.  I wouldn't wanna wake him."

Donna gives the young man a suspicious look.  "Conner, is everything okay with Dylan?"  she asks.  "He's been feeling bad quite a bit lately."

"Yeah, umm, I think he's probably just tired."

"Tired from WHAT, Conner?"  Donna asks.  "He hasn't been working all that much lately."

"Maybe his medication,"  Conner says.  "Tiredness is one of the side effects."

"Conner, what's really going on?

"Dylan hasn't been sleeping well, and I think it's wearing him down,"  Conner replies.

"Conner, level with me.  What's REALLY going on with Dylan?"

Conner remains silent as he lowers his head.

"Dylan's been drinking, hasn't he?"  Donna asks.

Conner looks at her and nods.  "Yes."

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"I didn't want you and Ray to be hurt or disappointed.  I thought I could handle it, and get him to stop."

"Oh, sweety, you CANNOT handle somethin' like this on your own.  You should've told me and Ray and let us help."

"Dylan didn't want you to know, and, quite frankly, neither did I."

"But why NOT?"  Donna asks.

Conner chokes back tears.  "Because Dylan.........we both thought that if you and Ray knew........that if you had yet another issue to deal with because of us, that........that you might regret taking us in and you might not want us here anymore."

Donna looks at him, her heart nearly breaking.  "Oh, Conner," she says.  "Did you REALLY believe that?  That Ray and I would regret having you and Dylan here?  Sweety, you two are part of our family."

"But we're not your kids,"  Conner says.  "You took us in and gave us a home, so that we wouldn't have to be split up since Dylan wouldn't have been able to live at Southfork with John Ross.  You and Ray have been nothing but kind to us.  Last thing we wanted to do was repay you with THIS."

"Alright, now you listen to me,"  says Donna.  "You and Dylan may not be our biological sons.  But you have become part of our lives and part of our family.  Conner, we love both of you very much.  You and Dylan do NOT have to go through this alone."

Conner begins to cry.  "Donna, I'm scared.  I'm SO scared for my brother."

"How long has this been going on?"

"I don't really know.  A few months, maybe.  But it got worse after he.........after he met this woman, and he fell in love with her.  Then she just dumped him.  That really destroyed him, Donna.  The first time Dylan ever fell in love, and she broke his heart."

"It's alright,"  Donna says, embracing the young man.  "It's alright.  We're gonna help Dylan.  We're gonna get through this together."  Donna hugs Conner as he continues to cry, relieved that Dylan's drinking problem is finally out in the open and no longer a secret to be kept.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital....

"Look, really, I'm alright,"  Richard Channing proclaims, as he lays on a bed in the emergency room at Texas Health Presbyterian that afternoon.

"Sir, you were brought in here with a gunshot wound after you collapsed outside of a gas station,"  a nurse tells him. "You are NOT alright."

"I have things I have to do.  Something I really need to take care of."

"The only thing you need to take care of right now, is yourself,"  a doctor says, walking into the examining cubicle.  "What's the problem here?"

"This gentleman has a gunshot to the side, and he's demanding to be allowed to walk out of here without being treated," replies the nurse.

"You have something against being treated for your wounds?"  The doctor asks.  "Or something against the medical profession, perhaps?"

"No, I have tremendous respect for the medical profession, but right now, I don't have time for this.  I am FINE.  I have some more important to take care of right now."

"More important than saving your life?  Because from the looks of the amount of blood you've lost, it's a miracle you're even able to talk to me right now, Mr.......??"

"Channing.  Richard Channing."

"Mr. Channing,"  the doctor says.  "My name is Richard, also.  Dr. Richard Freeman."

"Swell,"  Richard says sarcastically.

"Now, just let me take a look at your wound.  Then, after you've healed, you can take care of whatever you need to take care of."  Dr. Freeman lifts Richard's shirt and takes a look at the gunshot wound in his side.  Richard winces in pain.  "Who did this to you?"  Dr. Freeman asks.

"My brother,"  Richard replies.

"Your brother?"

"That's right.  And I'm going to see to it that he pays very dearly for this, and if he has harmed my wife.......he's going to pay the ultimate price."

Braddock Medical Center....

John Ross and Krystina step off the elevator on the third floor of Braddock Medical Center.  After looking both ways down the hall, they turn left and head down to room 314, Justin's room.  John Ross knocks on the door, then he and Krystina walk in to find Justin awake, and Pamela sitting at his bedside.

"Hey, John Ross,"  Justin says.  "Krystina."

"Well, hey there, brother-in-law,"  Krystina says, walking over to Justin's bed.  "It's a good thing all you Ewing men have such hard heads."

Justin smiles.  "Oh, yeah.  My Mama always did say I had the hardest head of anybody she ever knew."

"I think you take after your brother there."

"How ya feelin', little brother?"  John Ross asks.

"My head hurts like hell, but, I felt better when I woke up to find this beautiful lady by my side,"  Justin says, taking Pamela's hand.

John Ross gives Pamela a disapproving look.  "I see.  Well, I'm glad you're on the mend.  You scared the hell out of all of us when you fell off that horse."

"Scared me, too."

"Well, I think that I'm going to get a cup of coffee," says Pamela.  "And let you visit with John Ross and Krystina for a bit.  I'll be back soon."  She stands and leans over to kiss Justin.

"Hurry back, okay?"

"Don't worry, I will.  I'm gonna be right by your side all night."

"Don't you have a couple kids to take care of?"  John Ross asks.

Pamela looks at him.  "The kids are with my Mom, so they're fine," she says, then walks past John Ross and leaves the room.

"Excuse me for a second,"  John Ross says as he turns and starts to leave the room behind Pamela.

"John Ross, where are you goin'?"  Justin asks.  "If you're goin' out there to harass Pamela, then DON'T."

"Wouldn't dream of it,"  John Ross says, then walks out of the room.  "Pamela!"  He calls to his former wife as she walks down the hall.  Pamela stops, turns around, and looks at him.  John Ross walks over to her.

"What do you want, John Ross?"  She asks.

"What the hell's this all about?  This.......whatever it is you got goin' on with my brother?"  John Ross asks.

"What Justin and I have going on is called a RELATIONSHIP, John Ross,"  Pamela replies.  "A very loving, stable, and happy relationship.  Something I sure as hell never had when I was with you."

"You sure do like us Ewing boys, don't ya, darlin'?  First you were with Christopher, then me, and now my brother Justin.  Who ya gonna move on to next?  Cousin Lucas?  Then my big brother James or his son Jimmy?"

"You pathetic bastard.  You go to hell."  She turns and starts to walk away from him.

"It's never gonna last, Pamela,"  John Ross says, causing her to stop in her tracks.  "Best thing you can do for yourself and for my little brother is to just turn around and walk outta this hospital and outta Justin's life right now."

Pamela again turns to face him.  "You're gonna die an old man waiting for that day, because it's never gonna happen.  I love Justin and he loves me.  We're together, and we're gonna stay together, so you can just get over it."

"Never say never, Pamela  You know me.  When I want somethin', I find a way to make it happen."

"Listen to me, John Ross, and listen very carefully,"  Pamela says.  "If you do ANYTHING to try and mess up mine and Justin's relationship, then I swear, you WILL be sorry.  I'll make you pay.  So you just leave us alone."  Pamela walks away from him and heads down the hall as a smiling John Ross watches her.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital....

Bobby comes out of the front entrance of Texas Health Presbyterian and takes his cell phone from his pocket.  He dials Emma Ryland's cell phone number and waits for an answer.

Falcon Crest, Tuscany Valley, California....

Emma Ryland is coming down the stairs at Falcon Crest when her cell phone rings.  Taking the phone from her pocket, she looks at the screen and sees it's her stepfather calling, and answers.  "Bobby, thank God you called," she says.  "I've been trying to reach my mother all day, but every time I call it goes straight to her voicemail."

Dallas....

"Emma, I'm afraid I have some bad news,"  Bobby says.  "Your mother's been in an accident."

"And accident?"  Emma asks, her heart sinking.

"Yes.  Her car went off the road and hit a tree, sometime late last night. Some inmates on a work detail found her earlier today."

"She was there all night?"

"Yes.  She was very badly dehydrated and has a serious concussion.  She still hasn't regained consciousness."

Falcon Crest....

"So......she hasn't said anything?  About what happened?"  Emma asks.

"No, she hasn't,"  replies.

"Bobby, is she going to be okay?"  Asks a worried Emma.

"The doctor seems to think that, if they can get enough fluid and potassium back into her, and if there are no complications from the concussion, she should make a recovery."

"Thank God,"  says Emma.  "Bobby, I'm coming to Dallas on the first flight I can get."

"Honey, I don't think there's any need for that right now,"   Bobby says.  "You stay there and take care of that little boy of yours.  If anything changes with your mother;s condition, I'll call you."

"Bobby, I wanna come.  I'd feel better if I were there.  I'll see you soon."

"Alright.  I'll see you when you get here."

"Thank you for calling,"  Emma says, then ends the call.  She begins to cry as Kevin Channing walks into the house.

"Emma, what's wrong?"  Kevin asks.

"My mother was in a car accident.  Kevin, I have to get to Dallas."

"Oh my God.  Yes, of course.  I'll come with you."

"NO,"  Emma says quickly.  "I need to go on my own.  You stay here with Logan.  Take care of our baby."

"Are you sure?"  Kevin asks.

"Yeah.  I'm sure.  I have to book a flight."

"Honey, you go and pack.  I'll call the airport and book you on the first flight available to Dallas."

"Thank you,"  Emma says.  She kisses Kevin, then goes upstairs to pack for her trip.

An isolated farmhouse near Texarkana, Texas....

Austin awakens with a start to find himself in bed in a room that appears to be the bedroom of a private home.

He looks to his left and sees a beautiful teenage girl sitting next to him.  Austin is startled.

"Hey, there," the girl says in a thick southern accent.  "Glad you're fin'ly awake."

"Where.......where am I?"  Austin asks.

"You're in my house."

"Who are you?"

"I'm Kasey."

"How'd I get here?"

"My brother Josh found you out 'n our field.  He brought ya here.  Looked like you was in pretty bad shape.  I cleaned up your wounds as best I could.  And I gave you some pain medicine, too."

"Thank you,"  Austin says.  "My........my plane."

"Oh, that plane aint no more.  It exploded.  That other man that was with you, I'm afraid he didn't make it."

"What about........what about the other guy?"

"I just told you, he's dead,"  Kasey replies.

"No.  The other one.  There were three of us."

"There was only two of you,"  says a boy's voice.  Austin looks up and sees the young man he had earlier seen in the field near the plane walking into the room.  "How ya feel?"

"I.......I hurt.  Kind of all over.  Especially my head."

"That aint no surprise,"  the boy says.  "It's a wonder you survived that plane comin' down at all.  Good thing you got out before it blew."

"Did you get the fire out?"  Kasey asks the boy.

"Yeah, me and Corey got it put out."

"Where exactly am I?"  Austin asks.

"You're on our farm.  'Bout 15 miles outside of Texarkana, Texas.  I'm Josh, and this here's my sister, Kasey.  Your plane crashed dead center into one of our fields.  Messed up our land pretty bad out there."

"What about......Matthew?  The man that was killed.  The pilot."

"Don't worry.  We took care of him,"  the boy replies.

"What do you mean?"  Austin asks.

"Nothin' for you to worry about.  You just get some rest.  Kasey, come on, let the man sleep."  Josh and Kasey start to leave the room.

"Wait.  Why didn't you get me to a hospital?  Did you report the crash to the police?"

Josh and Kasey stop in the doorway and exchange looks, then Josh looks at Austin.  "We can't do that.  But don't you worry.  The fire's out, and I'll see to it your friend gets a proper burial."

"And I'll bring you some supper in a little while,"  Kasey says.

"What do you mean.....you can't?"  Austin asks.

"Look, dude, you just concentrate on gettin' yourself well so you can get outta here,"  Josh says.  "Just be thankful you got outta that plane before it blew."  Without another word to Austin, Josh and Kasey leave the room, closing the door behind them.

Austin lays his head back on his pillow and looks up at the ceiling.  He wonders why these kids didn't call the police or try to get him to a hospital, and he wonders where their parents are.  But his head is throbbing and his mind is fuzzy.  He closes his eyes in hopes of falling asleep, waking up, and realizing that this whole ordeal is just a nightmare.

Meanwhile, Josh and Kasey walk into the living room of their home.  "Joshua,"  Kasey says to her brother.

"What?"  He answers harshly.

"What you said to him......that when he gets better, he can get outta here.  Did you mean that?"

Kasey looks at his sister.  "Now, Kasey, you know I didn't.  You know we can't let him go so he can tell folks about us."

"Then what are you gonna do with him?"  Kasey asks.

"He's just gone have to stay right here with us.  And if he don't agree to that.......if he causes any trouble, then, I'll do what I have to do.  You go on and get supper started.  I'll go get that pilot buried."

Kasey looks at her brother as he walks out of the front door of the house.  She lets out a deep sigh.  Kasey likes Austin, and the last thing she wants is for her brother to hurt him.

The Wentworth mansion....

Dusk began to settle over Dallas as Katherine is in her bedroom at the Wentworth mansion, frantically packing a suitcase full of clothes while Katelyn sits on the bed, staring straight ahead, as if in a daze.  Katherine stops her packing and looks at her daughter.  "Katie, everything is going to be alright, I promise."

"I don't wanna leave Jimmy."

"Now, Katie, we've already been through this,"  Katherine says, walking over and taking a seat beside her daughter. "I have to get you out of here and get you somewhere safe.  Just as soon as I take care of your father once and for all."

"I don't see why we can't take Jimmy with us,"  Katelyn says, speaking as if she no longer has a grasp on reality or the grave situation they were in.

"Well, we CAN'T,"  Katherine says sternly.  "Now you just sit there and try to stay calm while I finish packing us some things.  Then I have a phone call to make.  A friend I need to get to take care of your father so he doesn't ruin things for us."

"So we're just gonna leave him here?"  Katelyn asks.

"I've already told you.......we HAVE to,"  replies Katherine.

"But I don't wanna leave him."

Katherine looks at the girl and sighs deeply in frustration, beginning to lose patience with her.  After a few seconds of thought, Katherine's manner softens toward her daughter, who is now mentally and emotionally confused.  "Katie, listen to me.  Jimmy will be fine right here for a while.  You and I have to go away for now.  The house will be closed up, so no one will find Jimmy, and then soon, we'll come back and you can be with him."

"We'll come back?"  Katelyn asks.

"Yes."

"When?"

"Just as soon as it's safe to."  Katherine looks at her watch.  "I wish Austin would call.  He and Brian should've landed in Monaco hours ago.  Well, I'm sure we'll hear something soon."  Katherine zips up her suitcase.  "Alright, darling, let's go.  It's time to go."

Katelyn nods, then slowly stands to her feet.  Katherine takes her daughter by the hand and leads her from the

bedroom.  A moment later, the two women descend the stairs and enter the living room.   Katherine walks over to a door and take a key from her pocket.  She unlocks the door and opens it to reveal Jeremy Lord, sitting in a chair, bound and gagged, his head tilted to the side, unconscious.  Katherine angrily glares at her former husband for several seconds, then comes out of the room.

"Katie, you stay here.  I'm going to get the car and bring it around back,"  Katherine tells her daughter.  Katherine walks to the front door of the house, and as she opens it, she is completely stunned to come face to face with Richard!  "Oh my God," she says.  "Richard?"

"Going somewhere, my dear?"  Richard asks, sarcastically.

Katherine looks at Richard's bloody shirt.  "Richard, you're hurt."

"Yes I am, thanks to Jeremy Lord,"  Richard says, walking into the house.

"You should be taken to a hospital."

"I just left the hospital, and I have no intention of going back there," says Richard.  "Katherine, you and I have some things to discuss."

"Richard, not now.  I don't have the time."

"Well, then MAKE the time," Richard says.  He then looks over and sees Katelyn standing by the stairs, two suitcases sitting on the floor beside her.

"You're going somewhere?"

"I have to get my daughter away from here,"  Katherine replies.

"I'm honestly surprised that Jeremy Lord didn't come back here after he shot me and left me for dead out on some road miles and miles from town."

"Jeremy did come back."

"And what have you done with him?"  Richard asks.  "I know you had to do something, because Jeremy Lord was threatening that he was going to harm you."

"I took care of him.  I wasn't about to let Jeremy hurt my daughter, so, I knocked him out."

"And where is he now?"

"In there,"  Katherine says, motioning toward the room where Jeremy was tied to a chair.  "Richard, just go.  Go on back to Falcon Crest.  I will get in touch with you soon, and I'll explain all of this.  I'll explain about Brian and Katelyn......EVERYTHING.  But right now, I have to get my daughter somewhere safe."

Richard walks past Katherine and to the room where Jeremy is.  He opens the door and sees Jeremy tied to the chair.  Richard looks at him for a moment, then turns to Katherine.  "Then you go.  Go and take care of your daughter.  I'll take care of Jeremy Lord."

"Richard, if Jeremy ever gets free, he could......"

"He isn't going to do a damned thing,"  Richard says.  "I have a very large score to settle with my so-called brother, and I can promise you that Jeremy Lord will never again cause you anymore pain, or anyone else I love, for that matter."

"Richard, I love you,"  Katherine says.

"And I love you,"  he says, kissing her.

"Are you sure you're alright?"

"I'm fine.  They stitched me up at the hospital.  They were going to keep me, but, I walked out when no one was looking and came here.  But I'm fine.  You go.  Leave Jeremy to me."

Katherine looks at her husband and nods.

Memorial Hermann Medical Center, Houston....

Courtney is sitting at Phyllis's bedside as she continues to sleep that evening at Memorial Hermann Medical Center. Christopher stands in the hallway outside of Phyllis's room, looking through the window at his wife and her mother.  Sly walks up to him with two cups of coffee.  She hands one of the cups to him.

"Oh, thank you," he says.

"You're welcome."

"Sly, I really wanna thank you for calling me and letting me know about Phyllis."

"Phyllis would probably kill me if she knew I had called you, but, I felt like Courtney needed to know what was going on with her mother, especially after Phyllis had to be rushed back into surgery."

"I'm glad that you did call.  If something had happened and Courtney was never able to see her mother again, I'm not sure she'd ever be able to get over that."

"Before her surgery, Phyllis was telling me about Courtney's son.....Jacob?  And that you and Courtney were trying to get custody of the child,"  Sly says.

"Yes, that's right, we are.  And, things are looking good in our favor."

"I'm very glad to hear that.  I just can't get over it.  Phyllis's daughter married to Bobby and Pam's son.  I know your mother would be very happy about that."

Christopher smiles.  "I certainly hope so.  I know my Dad is.  He loves Courtney very much, and the feeling is mutual."

"So how did the two of you meet?"  Sly asks.

"It was about two years ago, Dad and I were having lunch, and we happened to run into Phyllis and Courtney.  It was right after Courtney graduated from college, and she was looking for a job, so, I offered her a job as my secretary at Ewing Oil."

Sly smiles.  "Oh, that's right.  I had forgotten that Ewing Oil was back in the Ewing family now.  That's great."

"Well, thank you,"  Christopher says.  "Yes, we're very happy about that.  My Dad and I run the company along with John Ross and Sue Ellen."

"J.R. would be very proud.  He wanted nothing more than for John Ross to run Ewing Oil one day."

Courtney comes out of her mother's room.

"Courtney, is everything okay?"  Christopher asks.

"Yeah.  She's still sleeping.  Sly, I can't thank you enough for calling and letting us know about my Mom."

"You're very welcome, Courtney."

"I just can't understand why she kept this from me.  Why she didn't want me here."

"Oh, honey, it's not that she didn't want you here,"  says Sly.  "Your mother told me about what was going on.  About your son.  She didn't want to worry you and add to the stress you were already under."

"She had to know I was gonna find out."

"Phyllis had hoped that she could have the surgery, and be back home in a few days, by the time you and Christopher returned from California.  Believe me, Courtney, she didn't keep this from you for any other reason than she wanted to protect you."

"I still just wish I had known,"  Courtney says.  "God, if anything happens to my mother, I don't......"

"Hey, come on,"  Christopher says, putting a reassuring hand on his wife's shoulder.  "Your mother is gonna be fine.  We HAVE to believe that.  Phyllis needs us to be strong right now."

"I'm trying.  But between what's going on with my Mom, and with Jacob.........I don't know how long I can keep being strong."

As Courtney begins to cry, Christopher puts his arms around her and embraces her while Sly looks on.

The Krebbs home....

The phone rings in the living room at the Krebbs home.  Sitting on the sofa watching an old movie on TV, Donna reaches over to the table beside the sofa and picks the phone up.  "Hello?"  She says.

"Donna,"  comes Ray's voice on the other end of the line.

"Ray, where are you?  I thought you'd be home by now."

A hotel room in Galveston, Texas....

"Yeah, well, that's why I'm callin',"  Ray says.  "I called your cell phone about 3 times and got no answer."

"Uh, yeah, my cell phone died on me earlier, so I had it on the charger.  I guess I just forgot to turn it back on.  When will you be home?"

"Well, honey, I'm in Galveston with Heath, Pat Powers, and his son,"  says Ray.

The Krebbs home....

"You're in GALVESTON?"  Asks a surprised Donna.

"Yeah.  There's a little piece of land here that Pat wants to take a look at first thing in the mornin', so, he asked us to stay on and go take a look at it with him.  If we like it, we may buy it for development.  It's right on the ocean."

"I see,"  Donna says, a disapproving tone in her voice.  "So, when exactly WILL you be home?"

"Should be home sometime tomorrow afternoon at the latest."

"Good.  There are some things we need to discuss."

"Oh?  Anything wrong, Donna?"  Ray asks.

"No.  It'll keep until you get home.  I'll talk to you when you get here."

"Okay.  I love you.  Have a good night."

"Night, Ray,"  Donna says, then hangs up the phone as Conner walks into the room.

"That Ray?"  Conner asks.

"Uh-huh."

"Everything okay?"

Donna sighs.  "Yeah.  Everything's fine.  Ray's in Galveston and he won't be home until tomorrow.  How's Dylan?"

"He's asleep.  I started to wake him, but, maybe it's best if he just sleeps.  At least when he's sleeping he's not craving alcohol."

Donna nods as she brings her hands up to her head and rubs her temples.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital....

The elevator doors open at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital that night, and Sue Ellen and Catlin step off the elevator.  They spot Bobby coming out of Ann's room down the hall, and head to meet him.

"Bobby,"  Sue Ellen says as they approach him.

"Sue Ellen, Catlin."

"We just heard about Ann's accident,"  says Catlin.

"Yes, John Ross told me," Sue Ellen says.  "How badly is she hurt?"

"She was banged up pretty bad.  She has a very serious concussion, and she still hasn't regained consciousness yet. Her car went off into a ravine and hit a tree on some road way outside of town."

"What was she doing out there?"  Catlin asks.

"I have no idea,"  replies Bobby.  "But she was out there all night, until the middle of today.  She was very dehydrated and it's a wonder she hadn't had a heat stroke unconscious in her car in the sun."

"Can I see her?"  Sue Ellen asks.

"Emma's with her now.  She just got here from California about an hour ago.  I'll go and ask her to let you have a few minutes with Ann."

"Thank you," says Sue Ellen.  Bobby turns and heads down the hall to his wife's room.

"Sue Ellen, we never should have come here,"  Catlin says.

"Why not?"

"You know very well WHY NOT.  Peter Love escaped and he's on the loose, Sue Ellen.  Until that man is captured and put back in jail where he belongs, I won't feel safe."

"I understand, but Catlin, Peter Love is probably far away from Dallas  by now.  And even if he isn't, I seriously doubt he'd be hanging around in the halls of this hospital.  Besides, I feel very safe with you."

Catlin puts his arms around her.

Meanwhile, down the hall, Bobby walks into Ann's room and finds Emma sitting by her mother's bed, holding Ann's hand.

"That was fast,"  Emma says.  "I thought you were going out for some air."

"I was, but I ran into Sue Ellen and Catlin Ewing down the hall.  Sue Ellen would like to come and see your mother for a few minutes.  Would you mind?"

"No, not at all.  I could use a cup of coffee,"  Emma says.

"I'll join you,"  says Bobby.

As Emma lets go of her mother's hand and gets up from her seat, she and Bobby hear Ann moan out.

"Annie?"  Bobby says, going over to her.  "Annie, can you hear me?"  Slowly, Ann begins to wake up and opens her eyes.  "Honey, can you hear me?"  He asks.

"Bobby?"  Ann asks.

"Yes.  Yes, sweetheart, it's me."

"Bobby, I......oh my God......"

"Shhhhhh....just stay calm.  Don't excite yourself.  You're alright.  You're in the hospital."

"The hospital?"  Ann asks.

"Yes.  You were in an accident last night,"  Bobby says.

"Accident?"

"Yes.  A car accident.  Your car crashed down a ravine."

"No,"  Ann says, shaking her head.  "No, that.......that wasn't.......it wasn't an accident....."

"What?"  Bobby asks.  "Honey, what are you talking about?  Yes, you were in a car accident."

"No.  Bobby, listen to me,"  Ann says.  "It was no accident. Bobby, it was Katherine. Katherine Wentworth."

A stunned look comes over Bobby's face.  "What? Katherine?  Katherine did this to you?"

"Yes,"  replies Ann as a frightened Emma looks on, terrified that if Katherine had done this to her mother, it had to have had something to do with the secret of Logan's paternity!

The Wentworth mansion....

After Katherine and Katelyn have left the Wentworth mansion that evening, Richard comes down the stairs and walks into the living room.  He takes his cell phone from his pocket and dials a number.  After the third ring, a man answers.  "Carl, I need your help,"  Richard tells the man.  "I need you to get to Dallas just as fast as you can.  I've already got a plane waiting for you at my private air strip in San Francisco.  I'll text you the address I need you to meet me at when you're on the way.  Yes, this is very important.  Top priority.  Text my cell when you're getting to arriving."  Richard ends the call and puts his phone away.  He walks into the den, where Jeremy Lord is still bound to a chair and gagged.  Jeremy looks up at him, a look of pure hate in his eyes.  "I could have simply let the police take care of you,"  Richard says to him.  "But I want you to suffer, dear brother.  I want your every waking moment to be lived wondering whether you'll ever taste freedom, and whether you'll ever see your wife and kids again.  I want you to pay for what you've done to me and to my family."

Jeremy makes an attempt to speak, but is unable to because of the gag over his mouth.

"Oh, are you trying to tell me something, brother?"  Richard sarcastically asks.  "Well, let's just see what you have to say."  He walks over and removes the gag.

Jeremy looks up at him.  "You're never going to get away with this,"  he says.  "It doesn't matter what you do to me, or where you take me.........I will come back, and when I do, I intend to destroy you and that bitch Katherine.  I will utterly, completely destroy you and everyone you hold dear."

"Yeah, yeah, tell it to someone who cares,"  Richard says, replacing the gag.  "I've got news for you, brother.  Where you're going.......you WON'T be coming back......EVER."  Richard looks down at him and smiles deviously.

The basement....

While Richard taunts a bound and gagged Jeremy in the den, downstairs in the darkened basement, only dimly lit by a lamp beside the bed,  Jimmy lays on his bed, sound asleep, unaware of what is going on upstairs, or that anyone else is in the house with him...

Meanwhile.....a road headed out of Dallas....

Katherine is driving down a darkened street heading away from the city of Dallas.  As she drives, she looks over to Katelyn, who is sitting in the passenger seat, blankly staring out the window at the darkness, as if still in a daze.  "It's going to be alright, darling,"  Katherine tells the young woman.  "Richard will take care of Jeremy, and once we're far away from Dallas, we'll be safe.  I only pray that your brothers made it safely to Monaco," she says, continuing down the long, dark road that will take she and Katelyn out of Dallas County......

A farmhouse near Texarkana....

Austin is awakened by the sound of the door to the bedroom he is in opening and closing.  He opens his eyes and sees the young man who had rescued him, Josh, looking down at him.  Josh looks over at Austin's dinner tray and plates, still sitting on the table beside the bed.  "Ya didn't eat much,"  Josh says.

"I couldn't.  I wasn't hungry."

"Well, you get some more sleep.  Best thing for ya right now."

"Josh?"  Austin says.

"Yeah, what?"

"Earlier, you said that you would make sure that Matthew, my pilot, got a proper burial?  Did you call the police?"

"No, I didn't call no damned police,"  Josh says.

"But why?  A plane crashes on your property, and you don't even call the cops or try and get one of the survivors to a hospital?  I.....I don't understand that."

"Nothin' for you to understand, Mr.........Wentworth,"  says Josh.

"You know who I am?"

"Your I.D. was in your wallet."

"Look, I really think I should be taken to the hospital to get checked out," Austin says.

"Can't do that."

"Why not?"

"You're our guest here, Mr. Wentworth.  We'll take good care of you.  My sister, she nursed my Mama when she was sick.  She can do the same for you.  You just be thankful you got out of that plane before it blew up."

"Yeah.  I........I wanna thank you for pulling me out of there."

"What?"  Josh asks.  "I didn't pull you outta that plane, Mr. Wentworth."

"But.......you had to?"

"Nope.  You and that pilot guy were already layin' outside when I found y'all.  I checked the plane to see if anybody else was in there, and nobody was."

Austin tries to sit up in bed, but is unable to because of the pain.  "You.......you didn't find anyone else in the plane?  or anywhere around?  No other body?"

"Nope.  Just you and that dead guy.  Now get some sleep.  We'll talk more tomorrow."  Josh picks up the dinner tray and leaves the room, closing the door behind him.

"If Josh didn't pull me out of that plane,"  Austin says to himself after Josh is gone.  "If Josh didn't pull me out of that plane.......and if he didn't find Brian's body, then that means.........oh dear God.......Brian is alive, and he's out there somewhere."

Bang up beginning to Season 7. Bringing in Doctor Oz as a guest star. Nice touch. How about Dr, Phil as himself? :) Want to see General Williamson story line introduced. I want this to REALLY blow up in Brad and Tripp's scumbag faces.

Oh once again BUDDY! Very action packed episode, and a great way to start out Season 7. I hope John Ross stays out of his brother and ex-wife's relationship. Pay attention to your own relationship John Ross, and besides you have a much better wife in Krystina that you can actually trust. She's not perfect, but you are expecting a child with her. And you work together at Ewing Oil together. That's what you should worry about.

The whole situation between Jeremy, Richard, and Katherine is crazy! Katherine on the run with her pyscho daughter. Looks like all her crimes and misdeeds finally catching up with her as I knew it would, and the showdown between Jeremy Lord and his just as ruthless half-brother is still there. They have had two incidents, there has been a third coming back. Next, I can't believe Dylan is back to drinking again, and worse Connor is lying for him. He's a really terrible liar by the way.

Boy oh boy! Ann has some serious explaining to do. Please Ann, I'm begging you, please tell Bobby the truth. He's your husband, he's there to help you, not hurt you. And Emma has some serious explaining to do too. Your secret needs to be revealed because it almost got your mother killed! Man, Ann must really love Emma if she is willing to die for her.

John, as always you have written another perfect episode. Full of excitement from beginning to end. Lots of drama and still many questions to be answered. You always give us something to look forward to. Wonder what Richard will do to Jeremy or will Jeremy escape? Worried about poor Jimmy. Sure hope he will escape unharmed. Wonder what Josh and Kasey are hiding. Got a bad feeling that those two are living alone with no supervision from parents. Hope they are not in some kind of trouble. Wonder if Austin is going to be OK. So many questions can be asked about each person. Will just have to wait for the next episode. So glad you are writing Dallas again. I so love all of your stories. Thank you John for all your hard work.

An exciting start to another great season by John Walden, my favorite Dallas writer!!!!! Looks like we're going to see the California connection with the Dallas characters very soon! Brian is on the loose, Katelyn has lost her mind (no wonder), and I want poor Jimmy out of his cage!!!! Keep 'em coming!

How about a meeting between Patrick, John Ross, Bobby, Bum, and Smitty (Special Guest Star Oscar Winner Gene Hackman) to plot their revenge on Cliff, Brad, and Tripp over their frame up of General Williamson (Matthew Broderick)? That meeting should take place on The Grassy Knoll.

As a matter of fact, I believe Miss Ellie and Cliff had their heart to heart talk from the Original Series on The Grassy Knoll.

Derek. I agree with u about Krystina, buddy. John Ross needs to settle down and just stay with her and stay out of his little brother's relationship with his ex. Krystina has the right combo of beauty and brains just like her mom. Plus, she's got her dad's head for business. Like I said, the only one who touch her in the boardroom is her half-brother Patrick and that's only if she tries to but in on the government contracts that Blake trusted to him. in that light, should Krystina be in on The Grassy Knoll Meeting? I think she should since Christopher is busy helping Courtney.

I'm so glad I waited a few days to read this episode. It was AMAZING!! Poor poor Austin, he just can't get a break, lol. He goes from wacko to wacko to wacko. I can not wait to see where this goes!! Poor Jimmy, hopes he gets out soon!! I am so excited for more. Thanks John for another great episode!!!!

LOVED it!!! Poor Austin. How does he keep finding himself surrounded with crazy people??? Lol I can't believe Kathryn didn't put up a fight over Jimmy with Katherine considering how deranged she is. Wonder who she gets it from. I can't imagine. Lol Glad Austin, Ann, and Justin are alive! I'm dying to find out what Jeremy and Tripp are up to in their scheming.

I LOVED THE SEASON 7 PREMIERE! WHAT A GREAT WAY TO KICK IT ALL OFF! I loved that you made it a point to truly leave great and dramatic cliffhangers. You've got so much to feed off of for the rest of the season. I really liked one of the final scenes between Bobby and Ann. I felt the horror in her eyes as she revealed that it was Katherine who had messed with her car. I loved that you put pauses in your dialogue in the very last couple of lines. I really felt the build up as Austin talked about Brian being alive. You did a wonderful job here! I can't wait to see the war between the Ewings and the Wentworths play out this season! Great job!!!!!
